AMS lite Assembly
Step 1: Mount AMS lite Body to Stand
- Put the AMS lite body on the stand, ensuring the cable is on the upward end.
- Secure the AMS lite with the 4*BT3-6 screws from the accessory box.
Step 2: Install Rotary Spool Holders
- Slide the rotary spool holders onto the designated posts, ensuring they are fully inserted. Match colors to avoid damaging any parts.
Step 3: Connect PTFE Tubes
- Place the AMS lite to the right side of the A1 mini.
- Insert 700mm PTFE tubes into ports 3 and 4.
- Insert 580mm PTFE tubes into ports 1 and 2.
- Insert all four PTFE tubes into the toolhead filament hub.
Organizer Installation
- Install the organizer as shown in the diagram.
- Clip the black cable into the smaller hole of the organizer.
- The other four holes are for the PTFE tubes.
Recommended distance between A1 mini and AMS lite is 50mm.
Powering On
- Plug the AMS lite 4-pin connector into the port on the right side of the A1 mini.
- Turn on the A1 mini using the power switch on the back.
Ensure there is a 390mm clearance for heatbed movement.
Network Setting
- Follow the on-screen instructions until you see the "Connect to Network" screen. Press "Select Wi-Fi" to search for available networks.
- Select your preferred Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Input the Wi-Fi passcode and press "OK".
Printer Binding
- Download the Bambu Handy App. Register and log in to your Bambu Lab account.
- Use the Bambu Handy app to scan the QR code displayed on the printer's screen to bind your printer to your Bambu Lab account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial calibration. Some vibration and noise during calibration are normal.
Spool Loading
Standard AMS lite Spool Loading:
- Orient spool installation according to the filament winding direction, as shown in the diagram.
- Push the spool all the way onto the spool retractor.
- Feed the filament into the filament inlet.
Note: AMS lite contains 4 NFC readers. Each Bambu filament spool has an NFC tag. Once a filament is installed, the AMS lite will recognize its location.
Warning:
- The AMS lite supports spools with a width of 40-68 mm and an inner diameter of 53-58 mm.
- Avoid using AMS lite for flexible materials like TPU, TPE, or absorbent PVA. Also avoid materials that are too hard or too brittle, including third-party fiber reinforcement materials (PA-CF/GF, PET-CF/GF, PLA-CF/GF, etc.). Use external spool placement for these materials.
External Spool (for non-AMS use case)
- Connect the toolhead filament inlet (any of the four) and the filament guide with the 520mm PTFE tube as shown in the diagram.
- Hang the filament spool on the spool holder and feed the filament line into the PTFE tube as shown in the diagram.
First Print
- Press "Print Files" to access preloaded models on the SD card.
- Select the model you want to print.
- If using filaments on AMS, turn on "Use AMS". Turning on "Bed leveling" is recommended. Turn on "Timelapse" for timelapse video recording.
AMS lite Mapping
Map the actual filaments you have loaded to the print file preset filaments. It is recommended to use similar colors to match the preset to avoid compromising the flush setting.
