Control Panel Features:

The control panel includes dedicated buttons for Sensor Microwave, Popcorn, Beverage, Potato, Melt, Reheat, Defrost Weight/Time, and Express Cook. It also features a number pad (0-9), Add 30 Sec, Cook Time, Timer, Steam Clean, Power Level, Turntable, Display, Mute, Set Clock, Control Lock, Reset Filter, Surface Light, and Vent Fan.

Dimensions and Installation Information

Electrical Requirements: Requires a 120V grounded outlet. The electrical receptacle must be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven. In many cases, no additional wiring, venting, or cabinet rebuilding is necessary. Complete, detailed, easy-to-follow installation instructions and full-size templates are included with the microwave oven.

Installation Clearances:

Allow a minimum of 2 inches from the bottom of the microwave oven to the top of the range backguard to allow for removal of light covers.
The minimum distance from the door hinge side to an adjacent wall should be 1/2 inch.

Diagram Description (Dimensions): A diagram illustrates the installation dimensions for the GE over-the-range microwave. Key measurements include: a width of 23-9/16 inches, a depth of 15-11/16 inches (rear), and a door opening clearance of 98 degrees (without obstruction). Recommended installation height is a minimum of 66 inches from the floor, with a minimum cabinet width requirement of 30 inches. The exhaust outlet is shown connecting to a 3-1/4" x 10" duct. It also notes a minimum 1/2 inch clearance required from the door hinge side to an adjacent wall. The maximum depth can be 16 inches when using the JX15 Bump Out Kit (sold separately).

Ventilation Options

These microwave ovens are designed for adaptation to three types of ventilation:

Outside exhaust (vertical, as shown in diagrams)
Outside exhaust (horizontal)
Recirculating (non-vented, ductless – refer to Filter Kit information)

Hood Exhaust Duct Requirements

Outside ventilation requires a HOOD EXHAUST DUCT. Please read the following carefully:

Exhaust Connection: The hood exhaust is designed to connect with a standard 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular duct. If a round duct is required, a rectangular-to-round transition adaptor must be used. Do not use a duct smaller than 6 inches in diameter.
Rear Exhaust: If rear or horizontal exhaust is used, ensure the exhaust aligns with wall studs or that the wall is prepared with sufficient space between studs to accommodate the exhaust.
Maximum Duct Length: For optimal air movement, the total duct length (including transitions and elbows) should not exceed 140 equivalent feet for a 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular duct or a 6" diameter round duct.
Duct Resistance: Elbows, transitions, wall caps, and roof caps add resistance to airflow and are equivalent to sections of straight duct. The total duct length calculation must include the equivalent length of all transitions, adaptors, and straight duct sections.

Filler Panel Kit (JX36BWW/BBB/BSS/BES/BTS/BDS): Used when replacing a 36" range hood to fill additional width and provide a custom built-in appearance. This kit is for installation between cabinets only and not for end-of-cabinet installation. Each kit includes two 3-inch wide filler panels.
Filter Kit (WB06X10807): A Recirculating Charcoal Filter Kit designed for use when the microwave oven cannot be vented to the outside.
