Quick-Trak Operation
Follow these steps for effective use of the Quick-Trak feature.
Step 1: Coil Proximity
Keep the search coil close to the ground.
Step 2: Sweep Area
Sweep the coil over a specific spot.
Step 3: Stable Audio
Sweep until the audio signal becomes stable. [Audio signal icon]
Step 4: Start Detecting
Begin your detecting after the Quick-Trak is set.
Detecting Basics
Essential techniques for efficient metal detecting.
Sweep Level
Maintain an appropriate sweep level. Diagram shows a coil parallel to the ground with a checkmark [check], indicating correct sweep level. A diagram shows a coil angled upwards with a cross [cross], indicating incorrect sweep level.
Keep Metal Away
Keep metal objects away from the search coil. Diagram shows metal objects close to the coil with a cross [cross], indicating to keep them away. A diagram shows the coil away from metal objects with a checkmark [check].
Sweep Slowly
Sweep the coil slowly and deliberately. Diagram shows a slow, deliberate sweeping motion with a checkmark [check]. A diagram shows a fast, jerky sweeping motion with a cross [cross].
Recommended Distance
Maintain a recommended distance of 15 meters (45 feet) from other detectors. Diagram shows two detectorists separated by 15m (45') with a checkmark [check]. A diagram shows detectorists too close together with a cross [cross].
Overlap Sweep
Overlap your sweeps to ensure complete coverage. Diagram shows overlapping sweep patterns for complete coverage with a checkmark [check]. A diagram shows non-overlapping patterns with a cross [cross].
Refill Hole
Refill any holes you dig. Diagram shows a shovel filling a dug hole with a checkmark [check].
Connect WM 12 (Optional)
Connect the optional WM 12 accessory for enhanced functionality.
Step 1: Select Connection
On the device, select 'Connect WM 12'.
Step 2: Follow Instructions
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection process.
Threshold Level
The Threshold Level indicator displays a value, for example '27'. Adjustment icons are present for fine-tuning the threshold audio.
