Useful Tips for Your Drum Washing Machine
This guide provides essential information for the installation, maintenance, and operation of your drum washing machine. Please note that product illustrations may vary from your actual purchased product. For more information, refer to the user manual.
Installing Your Washing Machine
Proper installation is crucial to prevent vibrations and noise.
- Avoid installing your washing machine on a slippery or uneven surface, as this can result in vibrations and noise.
- If there is excessive noise or vibration, check that the four leveling adjustment legs are evenly and firmly on the floor.
- If the washing machine is not level, lift it slightly and adjust the lowest of the four leveling adjustment legs.
Important: Before using your washing machine, you must remove the shipping bolts from the back of the unit. Refer to the user manual for more information on removing safety devices.
Ensure that the leveling feet legs are level with the floor.
Levelling Your Washing Machine with the Levelling Feet
Refer to the descriptions appropriate to your washing machine.
Steps:
- Unfasten the locking nut by turning it to the left using a spanner.
- Level your washing machine by turning the adjustable feet in and out as necessary by hand.
- Fasten the locking nut by turning it to the right using a spanner.
Alternatively:
- Level your washer by turning the adjustable nut in and out, as shown in the figure.
- When your washing machine is level, tighten the locking nut using the (-) driver.
Cleaning the Filter
Water Supply Filter
If the filter net is not installed, it may cause a water leakage and operating error. Make sure to install it.
Steps:
- Pull and remove the filter net.
- Clean the filter.
- Insert the filter net and fasten its connector firmly.
Debris Filter
Clean the debris filter when water does not drain well or the '5E' error code blinks on the display. The product appearance may differ, but the cleaning descriptions are the same.
Steps:
- Open the filter cover using a coin or a key.
- Unscrew the emergency drain cap and pull out the emergency drain tube to drain off the remaining water.
- Hold the cap on the end of the emergency drain tube and allow all the water to flow into a bowl.
- Unscrew the emergency drain cap by turning it counter clockwise.
- Clean the debris filter and the inside of the drain hose.
- Replace the debris filter, the emergency drain cap and tube, and then close the filter cover.
Caution: If you open the debris filter when water remains inside the tub, water may flow out. If the debris filter is assembled incorrectly or not installed, it may cause a water leakage or operating error. Therefore, make sure to assemble it correctly.
Important Operation Tips
Adding the Laundry
Press the 'Add laundry' (Stop&Add) button and add laundry when the 'Add laundry' lamp turns on. If you add laundry during a spin cycle, it will restart with the initial set time.
Washing Bedding
Wash bedding using only the 'Bedding' course. You can wash acrylic, mixed spinning, and woolen bedding. For general clothes, the machine may not operate optimally.
- Wash only one bedding item at a time, regardless of size.
- Insert bedding rolled up into a ball. This distributes the center of gravity evenly, causing less vibrations and noise.
Do not wash electric blankets or carpets. When spinning blankets, cotton bedding, and woolen bedding, excessive noise and vibrations may occur, and the wash may not be completed as spinning is not performed.
Troubleshooting & Self-Test
When the Door Does Not Open
The door does not open when the temperature inside the washing machine is high or when the tub is filled with water.
- When the internal air temperature after a wash is higher than 70°C or the water temperature is more than 55°C: Wait until the internal temperature has dropped.
- When the tub is filled with water: Select 'Spin' to drain the water, then you will be able to open the door.
For some models, you can open the door when "End" is displayed or the end melody is played. If you open the door by force, it may result in damage to the product or safety issues.
When Selecting the Dry Function
For the Drying capacity, 1/3 of the wash capacity is reasonable. The maximum drying rate is 95%. If you insert more than the maximum drying capacity specified in the user manual, the drying performance may decrease. Remove and shake out the laundry to remove heat and moisture.
Fabric Softener Usage
If fabric softener is inserted above the reference line (MAX) of the fabric softener compartment, it may enter directly into the tub. Insert fabric softener only up to the reference line (MAX) so that it does not overflow.
If the rinse cap is not inserted correctly or there is foreign material in it when using concentrated fabric softener, residue may remain. Check the cap's insertion and clean the compartment if necessary.
Self-Test Error Codes
If any error message other than the following is displayed, refer to the user manual.
Indication | Symptom | Action |
---|---|---|
Door | When the door is opened | Is the door opened? Make sure to operate your washing machine after closing the door. |
4E | When no water is supplied | Is the tap closed? Turn on the tap. Is the filter net of the water supply hose connector blocked? Remove and clean the filter net. |
5E | When the water does not drain | Is the drain filter blocked? Clean the drain filter. Is the washing machine frozen? Add hot water into the tub and let it defrost. |
Hot | When the internal temperature of the drum is high | Did the washing machine pause? The cooling fan operates automatically. Wait until the 'Hot' indication disappears. Only Power and Start/Pause buttons operate. Do not force the door open. |
EE | When the wash time increases / Water does not drain (temp. high) | Unbalanced load: Press Start/Pause, check and redistribute laundry. Check water supply hoses are connected correctly. Operate again. |
