INVISIO Tactical Communication Units
Advanced solutions for military and law enforcement.
Foreword
By Ralf Kudernak, IMTRADEX GmbH
With over 30 years in personal communication systems for security-relevant tasks, I have a deep understanding of international markets, companies, and products that meet diverse user requirements. In all my years, I have never encountered a communication product as innovative and developed through immense investment as INVISIO. It is not merely a headset; it is an intelligent platform capable of infinite adaptation to any communication transmission unit provided to users. This offers unprecedented future security, as the system can be easily connected to existing and future communication units by purchasing an intelligent adapter cable. The fact that modern military, special forces, and police units worldwide use this system with conviction demonstrates that it is more than just a vision of the most innovative personal communication system. We invite you to read testimonials from various users and learn more about the system. We support you in the planning and implementation of a communication solution that meets your tactical needs.
Key Features: Simplicity, Modularity, and Flexibility
These three words perfectly encapsulate the design of the tactical communication system. Whether for use in the military, by special forces, or the police, the system provides perfect conditions for successful operations. The various Control Units can connect up to 3 devices, such as radios, mobile phones, vehicle intercom systems (for vehicles, helicopters, or tanks), or other audio sources. This ensures full compatibility with the latest devices and enables state-of-the-art communication. The connectable headsets offer superior and simple operation with outstanding features, including hearing protection (in-ear or earmuff style), bone conduction microphones, and excellent ambient sound perception through built-in external microphones.
INVISIO System Components & Technology
INVISIO IntelliCable™
The intelligent and patented INVISIO cables allow for easy system modification during operation. Users can switch between mobile phones, radios, laptops, or intercoms without affecting the rest of the system. New devices can be simply integrated into the existing system with a new cable.
HEAR-THRU CONTROL
The Hear-Thru technology allows users to adjust ambient sound perception settings with a single button press. The environment can be amplified, quieted, or completely muted, ensuring the right setting is always available without compromising hearing.
MULTI-COM INTERFACE
The system supports 1 to 3 Com-Ports, allowing connection to mobile phones, radios, or intercoms. The IntelliCable automatically configures the system upon connection. Control Units are available with different numbers of Com-Ports to suit every requirement.
CENTRAL POWER SUPPLY
The INVISIO System does not require an internal power supply. It draws the necessary energy from the connected radio or intercom system, greatly simplifying its use. If additional power is needed, it can be supplied via easily connectable accessories or a control unit.
Case Studies
British Army
The British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force aim to reduce hearing damage and loss. In 2010, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) prioritized hearing protection. A team acquired three different systems for various user groups. The goal was to protect soldiers from weapon noise while preserving their ability to perceive their surroundings, thereby maximizing efficiency. The INVISIO S10 and X5 were selected, with approximately 30,000 units delivered to soldiers since 2015. As stated by Major Melissa Dando, Senior Health Advisor - British Army, "THPS goes a long way to address the issues personnel had with wearing hearing protection in tactical situations. The new kit will give personnel in the Land Environment greater confidence in maintaining situational awareness and using communication equipment whilst still protecting themselves from serious hearing injuries, such as noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus."

- INVISIO X5: In-ear hearing protection headset with natural ambient sound perception.
US Army
The US Army sought to reduce the economic impact of hearing loss and noise-induced hearing damage among its service members. The challenge was the significant economic influence and reduced quality of life caused by noise-induced hearing damage and tinnitus, costing billions annually. Due to the increasing frequency and cost of military hearing injuries, the US Army invested in the INVISIO System as part of the TCAPS (Tactical Communication and Protective System) modernization program starting in 2013. The INVISIO System was introduced in 2014 and has since been deployed with over 10,000 soldiers across the USA. Soldiers train with the systems alongside TCAPS program personnel. The long-term objective is to protect soldiers from the outset, even during basic training, preventing hearing damage before it occurs. Captain David Kimsey, Company Commander, 4th BCT, 10th Mtn Div, US Army, commented, "First and foremost, it's going to protect Soldiers' hearing, but to also integrate a radio system with ear protection is phenomenal. I also like the advanced hearing enhancement. That will help us on the battlefield."

Danish Army
Danish soldiers have been using INVISIO products for the past five years. The Danish Army decided to procure new radios and hearing protection headsets to enhance soldier safety and reduce hearing damage. The acquisition was conducted jointly to ensure a suitable system. Technical challenges were met, with soldier acceptance playing a crucial role. The system's excellent modularity, comfort, and low weight were also key factors. All soldiers transitioned from their old radios to new ones and the INVISIO communication system, which they have exclusively used for the last five years. This adoption is due to compatibility issues with other headsets and the primary goal of reducing hearing damage. The integration of more communication systems is ongoing, leading to a complete audio solution.

French Army
The French Army required a reliable system for domestic operations. The need was for an easy-to-use and functional tactical communication system for military domestic operations, integrated with a military smartphone. An adapted version of the INVISIO V60 was developed, enabling use in two networks: a smartphone for military operations and a homeland security radio network. The INVISIO X5 active hearing protection headset is used for hearing protection, offering defense against detonations and preserving ambient sound perception. The French Army has been using the tactical communication unit since early 2016, deploying it during the European Championship, the Tour de France, and National Day celebrations, in addition to its daily use in Paris.

IntelliCable: The Key to Flexibility
INVISIO IntelliCable is the key to the flexibility of the INVISIO system solution. The connection cables allow seamless integration of different devices with tactical communication units and intercom systems – now and in the future. New devices can be easily integrated with a new cable. INVISIO communication units and intercom systems do not require system updates or similar changes; a new radio, a new cable, and the system is ready for use. Additional functions can also be enabled via the cables, such as switching between DMO-TMO or special functions on a mobile phone.
