Teka Tegranite+ Inset Sinks: Installation and Care Guide
Introduction
This document provides comprehensive instructions for the installation and care of Teka Tegranite+ inset sinks. It is designed to ensure proper fitting and long-lasting performance.
Installation Instructions
Before proceeding with the installation, please ensure you have read all instructions carefully. Teka sinks undergo rigorous quality control, but it is essential to report any defects before installation to avoid unnecessary costs. The sink must remain in its original packaging for inspection if a defect is found. Claims for defects discovered after installation cannot be accepted.
Important Safety Note: Never place the sink on its edge, as this can cause chipping or damage.
Preparation: Hole for Tap Fittings
The sink features a pre-drilled hole designed for taps with a 35 mm shaft diameter. To use this hole, ensure the sink is supported evenly, approximately 15 mm on either side of the pre-drilled hole. From above, carefully pierce the hole using a small chisel or screwdriver.
Diagram Description: Diagram shows a sink with a pre-drilled hole. Step 1: A tool (chisel/screwdriver) is shown approaching the hole from above. Step 2: The tool pierces the hole. Step 3: A screw is being tightened through a fixing clamp.
For taps with a shaft diameter exceeding 35 mm, the hole must be widened. This can be done using a jigsaw with a metal-cutting blade. Saw the hole in a toothed pattern as shown in the illustration and carefully break off the resulting projections with pliers. Caution: Do not use excessive force.

Fixing Clamps
Insert the provided fixing clamps into the preformed slots on the underside of the sink.

Mounting Procedure
Apply a 2-3 mm thick layer of silicone sealing compound to the ground edge of the sink.
Place the sink into the prepared cutout in the worktop. Adjust it so that all fixing claws engage the wood evenly in its final position. Press the sink into place and remove any excess sealing compound.
Tighten the fixing screws by hand crosswise in the order shown in the diagram. If using an electric or pneumatic screwdriver, do not exceed a torque of 6.0 Nm. Do not use electric or pneumatic screwdrivers unless they are equipped with a torque limiter.

Care and Maintenance Recommendations
Congratulations on your purchase of a high-quality Teka sink. With minimal care, it will provide many years of satisfaction. Please follow these recommendations for the care of your sink.
Daily Cleaning
For daily cleaning, use only standard household washing-up liquid or Teka Clean, a specialized product for plastic and ceramic sinks. After cleaning, rinse briefly with hot water and wipe dry.
Preventing Stains
Fruit juices, coffee, and tea can stain the sink surface if left in contact. Rinse or wipe the sink promptly after contact with these substances.
Stubborn marks or stains caused by abrasion from metal objects (cutlery, pots) or by staining food items can be removed with scouring liquid or powder. Always use a mat for hot pots.
Surface Care and Repair
Tegranite, due to its high quartz content, has a very hard and scratch-resistant surface. Traces of damage from dropped objects (avoid dropping heavy items on the sink!) can be removed by sanding the affected area first with coarse-grit sandpaper, then with fine-grit sandpaper, using circular motions. Finish by polishing the area dry with scouring powder and rinsing with clean water.
Hard Water and Limescale
Hard water can lead to the formation of limescale deposits. Intensely colored foodstuffs can stain these deposits, making the sink appear spotty. To remove limescale, use household vinegar diluted with warm water.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover the following:
- Improper installation not following the provided manual.
- Placing heavy objects on the sink or standing on it. Dropping sharp, cutting, or drilling tools onto the sink.
- Leaving cement, solder paste, acids, dishwasher tablet residue, silver polish, bleach, chlorine-based cleaners, food acids (lemon, vinegar), salt, or sugar on the sink surface for extended periods.
- Using seawater as tap water or water with excessive limescale.
- Lighting fires in the sink basin.
- Using ammonia or caustic soda (high alkaline substances).
- Placing hot pots, pans, or kettles directly onto the sink surface immediately after removal from heat.
