MPPT Solar Charge Controller Troubleshooting
Common Troubleshooting Issues
- LCD no display!
- Doesn't power on!
- The voltage read by the controller is quite different from the actual voltage of the battery.
- Controller NO Charging when battery NOT FULLYCHARGED
Troubleshooting Steps for LCD Display, Power-On, and Voltage Discrepancies (Issues 1, 2, 3)
- Check if the battery's connection is correct and reliable, ensuring no polarity inversion and that "+" and "-" are correctly connected.
- Verify that the fuse/breaker between the battery and controller is good.
- Check if the battery voltage is higher than 9V. If the battery voltage is lower than 8.5V, charge the battery to above 9V or replace it with a new battery with a voltage higher than 8.5V and continue the test. The controller cannot be powered on if the battery voltage is lower than 9V.
Note: If the multimeter reads the same voltage as your battery's true voltage, but the controller still exhibits the problem, please take a photo of the issue and email it with your order ID to cindy@ysolartech.com for warranty assistance.
Troubleshooting Steps for Charging Issues (Issue 5)
- Check if the connection is correct and reliable, ensuring no polarity inversion and that "+" and "-" are correctly connected.
- Verify that the fuse/breaker/connector between the PV and the controller is good.
- Check if the PV voltage is within the recommended range: VBat+2V < VPV < Range. Ensure your PV input voltage is within the recommended range and does not exceed the maximum power and voltage limits.
- Check if your PV voltage is higher than your battery's voltage. If the PV voltage is lower than the battery voltage, it cannot charge.
Note: If the PV voltage/power and battery voltage are normal, but the controller still doesn't charge, please take a photo of the issue and email it with your order ID to cindy@ysolartech.com. Technical support will assist you.
