This guide will help you setup the Turing Smart Series IP Cameras and NVR systems and get things running. Be sure to check to see that all parts are present. Note, some third-party components such as monitors, mice and keyboards can also be used with this system. If you encounter any problems, please visit www.turingvideo.com for additional support. You can login to the NVR locally using the monitor provided, or remotely using a mobile device app or desktop computer connected to the Internet. We will first login using the monitor. Once the NVR is powered up the home screen will automatically request you to select a language. 1). Choose a language, three are available: French, English and Chinese 2) When logging in for the first time, enter the default password 123456 3) You will now be redirected to the 'enhanced password mode' where you can enter your own personal password. 4) Enter a new password - it must contain the following characters: one upper case one lower case one number special character (*, $, # etc.) NOTE: 6 Email is optional and is used for resetting your password. Logging in using Monitor (Cont.) 5) Set an unlock pattern for extra security (this pattern can also be used in other menus within the system). . EXAMPLE: TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup 7 Network Setting using Monitor TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup 1) Adjust time and date. 2) Setting up IP address 8 Setting up NVR Remotely Use Smart Utility software to search and find NVR within the network. Download and install software from link below: https://turingvideo.com/software-download/ TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup Once you have installed the software, it will automatically detect any devices connected to your local network. Double click on the "E" icon to access NVR's web login. 9 TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup Setting up NVR Remotely (Cont.) Open any web browser and type in the IP address of the NVR into the search bar and a login for the NVR will appear. Enter the following: Username: admin Password: 123456 Create your new Personal password. 10 Setting up NVR Remotely (Cont.) TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup Once you have logged into the NVR you will see the NVR's home screen (similar to the monitor home screen). Select SETUP from the menu at the top to examine the NVR components. View details of the NVR components by selecting the categories on the left side menu (please note the NVR's IP address may be re-assigned automatically if you are using DHCP settings). Like the monitor, you can also check any hard disks in the NVR and format any drives if needed. 11 Setting up IP Cameras Remotely TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup Select CAMERA on the side menu to view all cameras connected to the NVR. When adding new cameras, turn Auto Switch to H.265 OFF. When installing new cameras, the protocols need to be PRIVATE. To change these protocols, perform the following: 1. Check the camera box number to change; 2. Select MODIFY; 3. Change Add Mode to IP ADRESS 4. Change Protocol to PRIVATE; 5. Enter camera's existing password; and 6. Select SAVE on the bottom. 12 Assign Passwords Remotely TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup To assign users a password perform the following: 1. Change into the System on the Side Menu; 2. Select USER; 3. Choose a user to assign a password to from the list; 4. Select CHANGE PASSWORD and enter a new password for user. (must include numbers and special characters) NOTE: This feature is only available to cameras with PRIVATE protocol settings. The Sync to Camera option allows passwords to be applied to cameras 14 Syncing Time Remotely TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup To sync the NVR time, perform the following: 1. Select Auto Update ON; 2. Enter TIME.WINDOWS.COM into the NTP Server Address box; 3. Enter 123 into the NTP Port box. 15 Setup Algorithms Remotely TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup To utilize algorithms available for your NVR, perform the following: 1. Select the SMART tab on the top menu; 2. Select camera from the pull-down menu; 3. Under Perimeter Protection select INTRUSION DETECTION and ENTER AREA. 4. Back under the VCA CONFIG heading, select the gear icons to apply algorithms. For this example, select the ENTER AREA. Note: Cross Line detection algorithms set in the IP cameras are not included as events in the current version of Turing Vision. 16 TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup Setup Algorithms Remotely (cont.) 5. Draw four points around an object on the camera view; 6. Select the FINISH DRAWING icon; 7. Click the PEDESTRIAN snapshot; 8. Select save at the bottom to save the settings; 9. Repeat steps 4-8 for INTRUSION DETECTION algorithm. 17 TURING Vision Quick Start Guide Smart Series Hardware Setup Tips for Using Algorithms When drawing detection zones around camera areas, be sure to outline similar areas with a similar shape to maintain accuracy and rule out false alarms.
