The network assistant helps you connect the radio to the Internet. Further configuration methods and detailed information are explained below.
- To access the network assistant, proceed as follows:
- Press [4] to access the system settings.
- Navigate to the menu item "Internet Settings" using [NAVIGATE/ENTER/ VOLUME] (9).
- Confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- Navigate to the menu item "Network Assistant".
- When the assistant is launched, the radio will scan for available Wi-Fi connections and list them.
- By turning [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME], you switch between the found networks. At the end of the list, you can restart the scan ("New Scan") or manually configure the connection ("Manual Config").
- If the desired network is not found or the SSID (Service Set Identification - network name) was not displayed, the network may be hidden or out of range. In this case, try manual configuration.
13.1.2 Wireless Connection (WLAN)
Depending on the network, you have various options to establish the connection to the network. Networks that support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) are marked in the list with the prefix "[WPS ...]". Other connections are open networks or connections protected by the PSK method = Pre-Shared Key.
WPS/PSK/Open Connection
A WPS connection allows a simple yet secure connection of the radio to the network. There are two options available: connection setup via PBC = Push-Button Configuration or via the PIN method, where you are prompted by your router's web interface to enter a randomly generated sequence of numbers.
PBC Setup
- Select the desired network. (Marked with the prefix "[WPS ...]")
- Then, in the WPS menu, select the "Push Button" option and confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- Press the WPS button on your router or current AP. This can often also be done via the corresponding web interface.
- Refer to your router/AP's operating manual for exact instructions.
- After the process has also been initiated on the router/AP, the radio should connect to the access point and the network connection should be available.
- Alternatively, the PBC setup can also be accessed in the radio's Internet settings:
- Press [4] (4) to access the system settings.
- Navigate to the menu item "Internet Settings" using [NAVIGATE/ENTER/ VOLUME] (9).
- Confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- Navigate to the menu item "PBC WLAN Setup".
PIN Setup
- Select the desired network. (Marked with the prefix "[WPS ...]")
- Then, in the WPS menu, select the "PIN" option and confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- The radio will now generate an 8-digit code that must be entered into your router or AP's web interface or user interface.
- For more information on configuring the router/AP, please refer to the corresponding manual.
Skip WPS / Pre-Shared Key (PSK) Configuration
- Select the "Skip WPS" entry, and you will proceed to key entry.
- For networks without WPS support, you will be taken directly to this entry.
- Enter the complete key in the input mask and confirm the OK button.
- If the entry is correct, the radio will connect to the access point and establish the Internet/network connection.
Note: The Pre-Shared Key is often located on the back of the router/AP. Pay attention to the case sensitivity when entering the key.
Open Network/Unsecured Network
Note: We recommend that you do not create an unsecured connection and always secure your network against unauthorized access. If the desired network does not have any security measures, simply select the network from the list and confirm. The radio will then immediately connect to the access point.
13.1.3 Manual Network Connection Configuration - Wireless (WLAN)
- To manually set up a network connection, proceed as follows:
- Press [4] (4) to access the system settings.
- Navigate to the menu item "Internet Settings" using [NAVIGATE/ENTER/ VOLUME].
- Confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- Navigate to the menu item "Manual Settings".
Manual Wireless (WLAN) Configuration - DHCP Active
- Select the "Wireless" option.
- Select the "DHCP Active" option.
- Enter the complete SSID (network name) in the input mask and confirm the OK button.
- Now select the corresponding security method of the network. Refer to your router/AP configuration for this.
- Depending on the selected encryption, you will then need to enter the network key before the connection is established.
Manual Wireless (WLAN) Configuration - DHCP Inactive
This method is similar to the configuration with an active DHCP server (Manual Wireless (WLAN) Configuration - DHCP Active), but you must also enter the network information, such as IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway Address, and DNS (Primary and Secondary). You can find this information in your router/AP's web interface, or you will receive this information correctly entered. Confirm the input. The radio will then attempt to establish the connection.
13.1.4 Display Settings
Here you will find the most important information about all network connections currently used or configured by the radio, e.g.: MAC address, Wi-Fi region, DHCP active/inactive, SSID, IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway Address, DNS (primary/secondary), etc.
- Press [4] (4) to access the system settings.
- Navigate to the menu item "Internet Settings" using [NAVIGATE/ENTER/ VOLUME] (9).
- Confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- Navigate to the menu item "Display Settings".
13.1.5 Remove Network Profiles
The radio automatically saves all previously successful network connections (profiles). This allows the radio to connect to one of these network connections on subsequent connection attempts, e.g., after being disconnected from the power supply, without you having to re-enter the access data.
To remove individual network profiles, proceed as follows:
- Press [4] (4) to access the system settings.
- Navigate to the menu item "Internet Settings" using [NAVIGATE/ENTER/ VOLUME] (9).
- Confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
- Navigate to the menu item "Remove Network Profiles".
- Select the corresponding network profile and press [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME] to remove it.
- The network profile will be deleted if you confirm the prompt with YES.
- A currently active/used profile cannot be removed.
Note: Before selling the radio to another person (selling, gifting, etc.), we recommend resetting it to factory settings. This will completely delete all saved network data and connections.
13.2 Time/Date Settings

- Navigate to the menu item "Update Settings".
Automatic Update
Update from Internet
If this option is selected, the time and date will be automatically set via the Internet connection. Additionally, select the time zone of your location (Set Time Zone) and - if desired (Daylight Saving Time -> ON) - the adjustment for daylight saving time.
Update from DAB/FM
With automatic updates via the radio network FM/DAB/DAB+, time and date are provided by the broadcasters and processed by the device. With synchronization via this source, you have the highest certainty that the time will be correctly synchronized even after a power failure and saved alarm times will be adhered to.
No Update
Time and date must be set manually (DD-MM-YYYY) as no automatic synchronization occurs.
Time/Date Settings
Manually set the date (DD-MM-YYYY) and time (hh:mm) using [NAVIGATE/ENTER/VOLUME].
