B. Backset: Verify the backset is either 60 mm or 70 mm (2-3/8 or 2-3/4 in).

Additional door preparation may be required for doors with 38 mm (1-1/2 in) holes.

C. Door Edge: Check that the door edge is 25 mm (1 in) thick.

Please contact customer service if door thickness exceeds 44mm (1-3/4 in) for a thick door kit.

Step 2: Install the Latch and Strike

A. Latch Orientation: Hold the latch in front of the door hole. Ensure the rectangular shaped hole is centered in the door hole. If not, rotate the latch face 180 degrees to extend the latch.

B. Chiseled Door Edge:

  • If the door edge is chiseled: Install the latch in the door with the supplied screws. Ensure the slotted hole is at the bottom of the latch.
  • If the door edge is not chiseled: Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the latch face. Grip the latch with one hand and twist the collar off with the other. Install the drive-in collar. Align tabs with holes in the collar and ensure it snaps into place. Pull the collar to test for a tight fit. Install the latch in the door using a wood block and hammer.
