tekmar Universal Reset Control 363

Model: U 363 | Revision: 06/99

Introduction

The Universal Reset Control 363 is a microprocessor-based control designed to maximize the comfort and efficiency of a hydronic heating system. It automatically adjusts boiler and mixed loop water temperatures using outdoor reset. Outdoor reset increases water temperature as outdoor temperature drops, improving energy efficiency by matching heat delivery to building heat loss. This reduces indoor temperature swings, particularly in fall and spring. The 363 can also integrate indirect fired Domestic Hot Water (DHW) and tekmar zone controls.

User Interface

The tekmar Universal Mixing Control 363 features four access levels: LTD (limited), USER, INST (Installer), and ADV (advanced). This brochure covers LTD and USER levels. Installer and Advanced levels should only be adjusted by qualified service personnel.

LCD Display Components

Control Buttons

The control has a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and four push buttons: Menu, Item, [up-arrow], and [down-arrow]. These are used to view and adjust settings.

Status Indicators (Symbols)

The Status Field indicates active outputs. Symbols include:

Room Temperature Unit (RTU) 062, 063 Integration

A single RTU can connect to the mixed side (tN1/tN2) of the Universal Reset Control 363 for a one-zone mixed water temperature system. For multiple zones, use a tekmar zone control or mix demand input. Connecting an RTU makes certain mixing-side items unavailable on the 363's display; they will appear on the RTU's display. Availability depends on the RTU model (062 or 063).
