Indesit Washing Machine Installation Guide
Step 1: Preparation and Water Inlet Connection
Before beginning the installation, ensure you have the necessary tools and components. The required tools include a 17 mm (0.67 inch) [wrench] and an 8 mm (0.31 inch) [wrench]. Protective [gloves] are also recommended.
You will be provided with two hoses marked 'x2' and one hose marked 'x1'. Connect one end of the water inlet hose to the designated water inlet port on the washing machine. Ensure this connection is secure.
Step 2: Connecting to the Water Tap
Connect the other end of the water inlet hose to your household water tap. The diagrams illustrate various types of taps and connection methods. It is important to use a tap that is compatible with washing machine connections. A [warning] symbol is displayed to highlight potential issues with incorrect tap types or improper connections.
Step 3: Drain Hose Setup
Position the washing machine in its intended location. Connect the drain hose to a suitable drainage point, such as a standpipe or sink trap.
Ensure the drain hose is routed correctly to facilitate water drainage. Avoid creating sharp bends or kinks in the hose. A maximum loop height of 2.0 cm (0.8 inch) for the drain hose is indicated to prevent siphoning.
Secure the drain hose to prevent it from accidentally dislodging during the washing cycle.
Step 4: Drainage Point Options
The drain hose can be connected to either a dedicated standpipe or a sink trap. If connecting to a sink trap, ensure it is properly fitted, potentially using a U-bend fitting for a secure and watertight connection.
Step 5: Final Machine Placement and Checks
Place the washing machine in its final position, ensuring adequate clearance from the wall. A minimum clearance of 55 cm (22 inches) and a maximum clearance of 100 cm (39 inches) is recommended behind the machine for proper ventilation and access.
Confirm that the water inlet hose is securely attached to both the washing machine and the water tap. Verify that the drain hose is correctly positioned, with its outlet end at a height between 55 cm (22 inches) and 100 cm (39 inches) from the floor.
Follow these detailed steps for connecting the water inlet hose:
- Attach the water inlet hose to the washing machine's inlet valve.
- Connect the opposite end of the hose to the water tap.
- Tighten both connections firmly to prevent leaks.
- Ensure the hose is not twisted, kinked, or stretched.
- Perform a final check for any water leaks at all connection points.
Step 6: Remove Transport Bolts
Crucially, before operating the washing machine, all transport bolts must be removed. These bolts are installed to protect the drum during transportation and must be taken out to allow the machine to function correctly and prevent damage.
The installation process includes symbols indicating the need to [unlock] and secure the machine. This refers to removing the transit restraints and ensuring the washing machine is stable and properly installed in its final location.
