Note 2: Due to hardware limitations, the DisplayPort connector, Thunderbolt™ 4 connector 1, and Thunderbolt™ 4 connector 2 require signal input from external devices and support up to two display outputs at a time.
Product Overview
The GIGABYTE GC-MAPLE RIDGE is an add-in card designed to provide advanced connectivity, primarily featuring Thunderbolt™ 4 technology.
GC-MAPLE RIDGE Card Layout
The add-in card features the following ports and connectors:
- DisplayPort: For video output.
- Thunderbolt™ 4 Port 1 & 2: High-speed data and display ports.
- Mini-DisplayPort In Port 2 (DP IN 2) & Mini-DisplayPort In Port 1 (DP IN 1): For video input to enable Thunderbolt™ functionality.
- PCIe x4 Interface: Connects to the motherboard's PCIe slot.
- PCIe Power Connector: For auxiliary power.
- USB Connector: For USB connectivity.
- 5-pin Thunderbolt™ header: Internal header for Thunderbolt™ connectivity.
- 3-pin Thunderbolt™ header: Internal header for Thunderbolt™ connectivity.

Installation Guide
Step 1: Install the GC-MAPLE RIDGE add-in card.
Insert the GC-MAPLE RIDGE add-in card into an available PCIEX4 slot on your motherboard.
Step 2: Connect the USB cable to the card.
Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB connector on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE card.
Step 3: Connect the USB cable to the motherboard.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to the F_USB connector on the motherboard.
Step 4: Connect the 5-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable.
Connect one end of the 5-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable to the 5-pin Thunderbolt™ header on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE add-in card.
Step 5: Connect the 5-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable to the motherboard.
Connect the other end of the 5-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable to the appropriate Thunderbolt™ add-in card header on your motherboard. Note: The 5-pin cable may have multiple connectors; ensure you use the correct one for your motherboard.
Step 6: Connect the 3-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable.
Connect one end of the 3-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable to the 3-pin Thunderbolt™ header on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE add-in card.
Step 7: Connect the 3-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable to the motherboard.
Connect the other end of the 3-pin Thunderbolt™ header cable to the appropriate Thunderbolt™ add-in card header on your motherboard. Note: Connector support depends on motherboard models.
Step 8: Connect PCIe power.
Connect the power cables from your power supply to the two PCIe power connectors on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE card.
Step 9: Connect display devices.
Use the included Mini-DisplayPort cables to connect your graphics card and displays:
- 9-1: Connect the Mini-DisplayPort In port on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE card to the DisplayPort on your graphics card.
- 9-2: Connect your Thunderbolt™ device or DisplayPort monitor's cable to the appropriate Thunderbolt™ 4 connector on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE add-in card.
Display Connection Scenarios:
- One DisplayPort Monitor: Connect a Mini-DisplayPort cable to DP IN 1. Connect the monitor's cable to the DisplayPort connector or Thunderbolt™ 4 connector 1 on the GC-MAPLE RIDGE card.
- Two DisplayPort Monitors: Connect one Mini-DisplayPort cable to DP IN 1 and the monitor's cable to the DisplayPort connector or Thunderbolt™ 4 connector 1. Connect the second Mini-DisplayPort cable to DP IN 2 and the monitor's cable to Thunderbolt™ 4 connector 2.
Important: Ensure your motherboard's BIOS is updated to the latest version.
Daisy-Chaining Thunderbolt™ Enabled Devices
Refer to the following for connecting Thunderbolt™-enabled devices in a daisy-chaining configuration. Ensure devices to be daisy-chained have both Thunderbolt™ input and output ports.
Configuration Examples:
- Five Thunderbolt™ devices: Connect devices sequentially.
- Five Thunderbolt™ devices and one native DisplayPort monitor: Requires a graphics card with DisplayPort output. Connect devices sequentially, with the monitor connected to the last Thunderbolt™ device or directly to the GC-MAPLE RIDGE card if supported.
- Five Thunderbolt™ devices and three DisplayPort monitors: Requires a graphics card with DisplayPort support. Connect devices sequentially, with monitors connected to the last Thunderbolt™ devices or directly to the GC-MAPLE RIDGE card if supported.
Driver Installation
After the computer starts, install the driver for the GC-MAPLE RIDGE add-in card. Insert the included driver disc and follow the on-screen instructions.
Alternatively, visit GIGABYTE's global website (https://www.gigabyte.com) and navigate to Support & Downloads to find the latest software driver.
