Assembling your device

Lift your device from the box with both hands, gripping the base.

Do not lift by the amplifier loop.

Assemble your device with the filters provided.

Dyson Purifier Cool

HEPA+Carbon filter included.

Insert the HEPA+Carbon filter into the outer casing and place onto the base. Push firmly until both outer casings click into place.

Dyson Purifier Cool

Separate HEPA and Carbon filters included.

Insert the Carbon filters into place on the device. Insert the HEPA filter into the outer casing. Place the outer casings onto the base and push firmly until they click securely into place.

Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde

Your device comes with a long-lasting catalytic filter and a HEPA+Carbon filter.

Insert the catalytic filters into place on the device. Insert the HEPA+Carbon filter into the outer casing and place it onto the base. Push firmly until both outer casings click securely into place.

Getting started

Place the remote control on the device with the buttons facing down.

Plug the power adapter into the mains socket and switch on the device.

Connecting to your smart home

Using Amazon Alexa

Ask Alexa to enable the Dyson skill to control your Dyson air purifier or purifier and humidifier. Set a mode to automatically operate your device alongside other devices in your home.

Using Google Assistant

Control all your connected air purifiers using Google, or set a mode to automate your device’s operation alongside other devices in your home. Simply say “Hey Google” to get started.

Using Siri

Add your Dyson devices to Siri shortcuts, then you can control them with your voice on your Apple device.

Power and continuous monitoring

Standby on/off

Press the standby on/off button on the Dyson air purifier or the remote control to stop your device from operating. It will continue to monitor air quality.

Continuous monitoring

Continuous monitoring is off by default. Once switched on, it will be active all the time until you switch it off again.

When continuous monitoring is on, your Dyson air purifier will collect information about air quality, temperature, and humidity and display it on the LCD screen and in the Dyson Link app.

Continuous monitoring

Press and hold the Auto mode button on the remote control for 5 seconds to turn on this mode. The LCD screen will show whether continuous monitoring is on or off.

Wi-Fi connection

Wi-Fi is enabled by default. To turn Wi-Fi on or off, press and hold the standby on/off button on your device for 5 seconds.

Information menu

Press this button to scroll through the list of monitored information for your Dyson air purifier.

Air quality, temperature, humidity, and filter performance levels are displayed on the LCD screen.

If air quality deteriorates due to a specific pollutant, the LCD screen will display its symbol.

Indoor air quality – 12 seconds

View current air quality on a graph showing the last 12 seconds of data.

Particulate Matter (PM2.5)

Microscopic particles up to 2.5 microns in size that are dispersed in the air we breathe. These can include smoke, bacteria, and allergens.

Particulate Matter (PM10)

Larger microscopic particles up to 10 microns in size that are dispersed in the air we breathe. These include dust, mold, and pollen.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

VOCs are usually odours that can be harmful. They are found in cleaning products, paints, and furniture.

Nitrogen dioxide and other oxidizing gases

These potentially harmful gases are released into the air by combustion processes, such as cooking on a gas hob or emissions from a vehicle exhaust.

Indoor humidity

The amount of water vapor in the air, shown as a percentage.

Indoor air temperature

Monitors the ambient temperature to help maintain a comfortable environment.

Filters

The screen shows the remaining filter life. It will indicate when your non-washable filters need replacing.

Wi-Fi

The current status of the Wi-Fi connection.

Auto mode

Set your Dyson air purifier to auto mode, and the onboard sensors will intelligently adjust the device settings according to air quality.

Air quality – Your device will pause when the air quality target is reached. It will restart when air quality deteriorates.

Airflow speed – Airflow speed will increase until the set air quality and temperature are reached.

Airflow speed and direction

Press the airflow speed button to increase or decrease the airflow speed.

Press the airflow direction button to change the airflow direction from front to back.

Change the airflow direction for your comfort.

Select the airflow direction in fan mode to direct the air forward for purification and cooling.

Oscillation

Press the oscillation button to circulate air around the entire room, and cycle through oscillation settings from 0° to 350°.

You can individually adjust oscillation settings in the Dyson Link app.

Night mode and sleep timer

In night mode, your Dyson air purifier will continue to monitor air quality and respond to changes, but will use quieter settings. The LCD screen brightness will be dimmed.

Press the night mode and sleep timer button to cycle through the timer options.

HEPA+Carbon filter replacement

Before replacing the filter, switch off the Dyson air purifier and unplug it from the mains.

The screen shows the remaining filter life. It will indicate when your non-washable filters need replacing. Press the information button on the remote control or consult the Dyson Link app.

You need to reset the filter life on your device.

To replace the HEPA+Carbon filter, press the buttons on either side of the device to release the outer casing. Press the tabs to remove the filter.

Insert the replacement filter into the outer casing and ensure the tabs click into place.

Place the outer casings back onto the device and push firmly until they click securely into place.

Plug the power adapter into the mains socket and switch on the device. Reset the filter life.

Your device comes with a long-lasting catalytic filter and a HEPA+Carbon filter.

The catalytic filter does not need replacing.

To replace the HEPA+Carbon filter, press the buttons on either side of the device to release the outer casing. Press the tabs to remove the filter.

Insert the replacement filter into the outer casing and ensure the tabs click into place.

Place the outer casings back onto the device and push firmly until they click securely into place.

Plug the power adapter into the mains socket and switch on the device. Reset the filter life.

Care and cleaning

To ensure your Dyson air purifier operates at its best, it is important to clean it regularly and check for blockages.

Cleaning the device

If your device is dusty, wipe it with a damp, lint-free cloth.

Check that the air intake holes in the filter and the small opening in the amplifier loop are not blocked.

Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris.

Do not use detergents or polishes to clean the device.

Error codes

If the unit displays an error code, try switching it off and then on again. If the error code persists, contact Dyson Customer Care.
