Removal
NOTE: If installing a new BCM , verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.
1. NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.
Upload the module configuration information from the BCM into the scan tool by following the scan tool onscreen instructions. 
 Refer to: Module Configuration - System Operation and Component Description (418-01 Module Configuration Description and Operation) . 

2. Remove the 2 instrument panel insulator retainers and the instrument panel insulator.

3. Position the front door weather-strip aside and remove the instrument side trim panel.

4. Detach the clips and remove the RH instrument panel lower finish panel.

5. Remove the RH cover.

6. Remove the RH push pin.

7. Remove the bolt, release the clips and remove the RH floor console finish panel. 
 Torque : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

Disconnect the electrical connector. 
 Torque : 18 lb.in (2 Nm)

10. Disconnect the BCM electrical connectors and remove the BCM .

Installation
NOTE: The BCM still communicates with the scan tool with the ignition off. Use the previous scan tool session or start a scan tool session using the part number or tear tag number on the PCM . The tear tag number can be found by double-clicking the VIN in the top left corner of PTS after OASIS has been run for the VIN.
NOTE: Low vehicle battery state-of-charge can affect proper module programming. Battery state-of-charge can be monitored on the scan tool. A red battery icon indicates low vehicle battery state-of-charge. Over-voltage may also affect module programming.
Make sure the battery is fully charged before starting the installation procedure. Do not have a battery charger connected to the vehicle charging system during the installation procedure. 1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 

NOTE: Carry out the remaining steps only if installing a new BCM .
2. NOTE: You will not be able to confirm that transport mode has been deactivated until module programming has been completed.
Deactivate transport mode in the BCM . 
 Refer to: Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation (419-10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, General Procedures) . 

3. Carry out the PMI procedure for the BCM . 

4. Turn the ignition OFF and leave it OFF until Step 8.

For vehicles without push button start, remove the key from the ignition. 


5. Using the scan tool, select Tool Box/Module Programming/Programmable Parameters/Car Configuration Parameter(s).

6. NOTE: If a diagnostic scan tool is connected to the internet, it automatically obtains As-Built data. If a diagnostic scan tool is not connected to the internet, obtain the As-Built data from PTS OASIS . Download the As-Built data to the scan tool or other storage device, such as a flash drive, following the on-screen instructions.
From the Car Configuration screen select "Retrieve PTS derived ASBUILT data". Follow the on-screen instructions to install the as-built data into the BCM .

7. NOTE: Any scan tool prompts to turn the ignition on and off should be ignored during the Car Configuration Parameter process. Do not interrupt the process until it is completed.

8. Place the ignition to the RUN mode. 
 NOTE: Due to push button start key transponder internal location, proper key orientation is required for successful key programming. The transponder is located in the front of the floor console.

For vehicles with push button start, place the key transponder in the transceiver location and press the STOP/START button.

9. Confirm that transport mode has been deactivated by verifing that transport mode is not displayed in the instrument cluster. 

10. Carry out the Configurable Engine Immobilizer (CEI) Lock Configuration. On the scan tool, select Body/Service Functions/CEI Lock Configuration. 

11. DisableTransport Mode. 
 Refer to: Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation (419-10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, General Procedures) . 

12. NOTE: If a PCM tear tag or part number was used to establish the scan tool session, it may be necessary to establish a new session using the normal process.
For vehicles without push-button start, carry out the key code erase and program procedure. 
 Refer to: Erase All Keys and Key Programming (419-01B Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) - Vehicles Without: Keyless Entry and Push Button Start, General Procedures) . 

13. Using a diagnostic scan tool, enter the PATS functions and follow the on-screen instructions to enter PATS security access. 
 Select parameter reset BCM and PCM . Follow the on-screen instructions. 
 NOTE: Security access may need to be granted again.

If equipped with push button start, select parameter reset for BCM , RFA , PCM and ABS module. Follow the on-screen instructions. 


14. Configure the customer preference programmable parameters. 
 Refer to: Module Configuration - System Operation and Component Description (418-01 Module Configuration Description and Operation) . 


15. Train the tire pressure sensors. 
 Refer to: Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Location Calibration (204-04B Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), General Procedures) . 


16. Carry out the BCM self-test, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and then repeat the self-test to confirm all DTC have been cleared.
