This manual provides essential information for the safe use and maintenance of the IKEA LITOSFÄR battery charger.
Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and understand the associated hazards. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
CAUTION:
- Unplug the charger from the power outlet before cleaning or when not in use.
- Clean the charger with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the charger in water.
- Risk of injury. Risk of electric shock. For indoor use only.
- Only charge Ni-MH rechargeable batteries with a minimum capacity of 500 mAh (AAA) or 1000 mAh (AA).
- DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHARGE NON-RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.
- Do not attempt to charge damaged batteries.
Product Features
- 8 individual charging slots.
- Charges and stores up to 8 rechargeable batteries.
- Each slot is compatible with HR6/AA and HR03/AAA rechargeable batteries.
- Charging is terminated by individual detection of full charge via minus delta voltage or zero delta (-dV/dT or 0dV/dT).
- When batteries are fully charged and the charger remains plugged in, it switches to maintenance charging mode. Batteries can be stored in the slots without discharging.
- Safety features include independent timer and temperature sensors.
- Detects non-rechargeable and damaged batteries.
- Two-color LED indicator for charging status of each slot.
- Storage compartment under the lid can hold up to 8 HR6/AA batteries and 4 additional HR03/AAA batteries. HR6/AA storage slots are also compatible with HR03/AAA batteries.
- The charger can be wall-mounted using the two holes on the back.
Operating Instructions
- Connect the supplied power cable to the charger and plug it into the power outlet.
- Insert batteries into the charging slots, observing the polarity (+/-) indications.
- LED Indicator Status:
- Flashing white LED: charging in progress.
- Solid white LED: charging complete.
- Flashing red LED: error. Inserted batteries are non-rechargeable, damaged, too hot or too cold, or not inserted according to polarity indications.
- The charger must be plugged into a power outlet for the maintenance charging to function during storage.
Important Information
- New batteries require 2-3 charge and use cycles to reach optimal performance.
- It is normal for batteries to heat up during charging. They will gradually cool down once charged.
- Charging time may vary depending on battery capacity, charge level, battery age, and ambient temperature.
- Charger operating temperature: 0 °C to 40 °C.
