- A Micro SIM card is required for the EVA1MM model.
Installation Procedures
Daisy Chain Configuration
The installation of a 4G modem in one charging station allows communication with up to 10 charging stations. For commissioning a charging station cluster, refer to Chapter 6.
For daisy chain connection of charging stations, consult instruction sheet NNZ1940301.
EVA1MS Modem Installation
- Remove Front Cover: Refer to instruction sheet NNZ1940301.
- Install Modem: Take necessary precautions when handling and installing the modem into the motherboard connector.
- Install Main Antenna: Wipe the surface with a dry cloth. Install the antenna and secure it with screws, torquing to 0.25 Nm (2.2 lb-in).
- Install Diversity Antenna: Wipe the surface with a dry cloth. Install the antenna and secure it with screws.
- Route Antenna Wires: Carefully route the antenna wires.
- Connect Antennas to Modem: Take necessary precautions to connect the antenna connectors (GPS, DIV ANT, Main) to the modem.
- Reinstall Front Cover: Refer to instruction sheet NNZ1940301. Ensure no electrical wires are pinched.
EVA1MM Modem Installation
- Remove Front Cover: Refer to instruction sheet NNZ1940301.
- Prepare SIM Card: Insert a Micro SIM card.
- Install Modem: Take necessary precautions when handling and installing the modem into the motherboard connector. Secure with screws, torquing to 0.25 Nm (2.2 lb-in).
- Install Antenna: Ensure the notch for antenna installation is positioned at the top of the side plate. Refer to instruction sheets JYT24397 or JYT24398 if the side plate needs to be inverted.
- Connectors: Connect the Cell connector and Wi-Fi connector.
- Install EVlink Pro AC: For installation into the metal enclosure, consult instruction sheets JYT24397, JYT24398, or JYT24399.
- Route Antenna Wire: Route the antenna wire.
- Connect Antenna to Modem: Take necessary precautions to connect the antenna connector to the modem.
- Reinstall Front Cover: Refer to instruction sheet NNZ1940301. Ensure no electrical wires are pinched.
Commissioning
Single Station Commissioning
- Download eSetup: Obtain the eSetup application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Connect via Bluetooth: Bluetooth connection with eSetup is possible for 2 hours after the charging station is first powered on. After this period, an activation badge can be used to reactivate Bluetooth communication for 10 minutes. At first connection, create a secure password.
- Configure Modem: Configure the modem settings, including APN name, username, and password, which are typically provided by your SIM card supplier.
Cluster Commissioning (up to 10 stations)
Before starting cluster configuration, it is recommended to switch off all charging stations in the cluster. Ensure only EVlink Pro AC devices are present.
- Power on the charging station with the embedded modem only.
- Connect this station with eSetup. Start connectivity configuration by activating the embedded modem. Configure DHCP settings (set DHCP OFF and activate DHCP server) and configure supervision. Do not restart the station at this stage.
- Restart the charging station.
- Power on the next charging station of the cluster without an embedded modem.
- Connect this station with eSetup. Verify that DHCP is ON and configure the supervision.
- Restart the charging station.
- Repeat operations 4, 5, and 6 for the remaining charging stations in the cluster.
- Verify the cluster configuration with eSetup from the charging station with the embedded modem.
Notes:
- (1) An APN name is required. For PAP, CHAP, or PAP-CHAP authentication, a username and password are necessary, provided by your SIM card supplier.
- (2) Network settings may need to be updated.
- (3) A URL address, charging station identifier, and optional password are required, provided by your charging station management system administrator.
