Safety Information
Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate, or install the product.
- Before installation, disconnect power by removing fuses or turning off circuit breakers.
- Ensure all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, the National Electrical Code, and ANSI/NFPA 70-199. Consult a qualified electrician if unfamiliar with electrical wiring.
- Ensure the installation site allows a minimum clearance of 7 ft. from the blades to the floor and at least 30 in. from the end of the blades to any obstruction.
- The net weight of this fan is 17.16 lbs.
- DANGER: Ensure the outlet box is securely attached to the building structure and can support the full weight of the fan. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death.
- WARNING: Use gloves when handling fan parts with sharp edges to avoid personal injury.
- WARNING: Using a full-range dimmer switch to control fan speed will cause a loud humming noise. Do NOT use a full-range dimmer switch.
- WARNING: Mount the fan to an outlet box marked "ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT" and use the provided mounting screws. Most outlet boxes for lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need replacement. Consult a qualified electrician. Secure the outlet box directly to the building structure. The outlet box and its support must be able to support the moving weight of the fan (at least 35 lbs.).
- WARNING: Wire connectors are designed for one 12-gauge house wire and two fan lead wires. If your house wire is larger than 12-gauge or if there is more than one house wire to connect, consult an electrician for proper wire connectors.
- WARNING: Do not bend blade arms when installing, balancing, or cleaning the fan. Do not insert objects between rotating fan blades.
- WARNING: Use only provided parts. Using other parts will void the warranty.
- CAUTION: Ensure the outlet box is properly grounded or has a ground (green or bare) wire.
- CAUTION: Check all screws, bolts, and nuts on the fan motor assembly to ensure they are secured.
- This equipment complies with FCC Rules Part 15 for Class B digital devices. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If interference occurs, try reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, or connecting to a different circuit. Consult a dealer or technician if problems persist.
Preparation
Before assembly, ensure all parts are present by comparing them with the package and hardware contents lists. Do not attempt assembly if any part is missing or damaged.
Estimated Assembly Time: 120 minutes

Helpful Tools (not included): AC Tester Light, Tape Measure, Wiring Handbook
Initial Installation
- Turn off the circuit breakers and wall switch to the fan supply line leads. DANGER: Failure to disconnect power may result in serious injury or death.
- Determine the mounting method:
- Standard mounting: Best for ceilings 8 ft. or higher. A longer downrod may be needed for taller ceilings.
- Angle mounting: Best for angled or vaulted ceilings. A longer downrod may be needed for proper blade clearance. Ensure the ceiling angle is not steeper than 16°.
- Close mount installation: More suitable for ceilings lower than 8 ft. high.
- Flushmount installation: Not available for this item.
- Ensure blades (Q) will be at least 30 in. from obstructions. Ensure downrod (A) length allows blades (Q) to be at least 7 ft. above the floor.
- Loosen mounting bracket screws (S) and detach mounting bracket (D) from canopy (E).
- Attach mounting bracket (D) to the outlet box using the outlet box's screws and washers. CAUTION: Use proper hardware for the mounting bracket as it supports the fan. For angle mounting, ensure the open end of the mounting bracket (D) faces the higher point of the ceiling.
- Remove motor screws (R) and plastic motor blocks from the underside of the motor assembly (G). Discard motor blocks, but keep motor screws (R).
- For Standard or Angle Mounting Instructions, proceed to page 9. For Close Mount Instructions, proceed to page 11.
Standard or Angle Mounting Instructions
- Remove downrod pin (B) and downrod clip (C) from downrod (A). Partially loosen set screws (W) in the yoke at the top of the motor assembly (G).
- Insert downrod (A) through canopy (E) and yoke cover (O). Feed wires from motor assembly (G) through downrod (A).
- Slide downrod (A) into the yoke of the motor assembly (G), align holes, re-install downrod clip (C) and downrod pin (B). Secure with set screws (W).
- If using a longer downrod, you may need to cut lead wires. Measure 8 inches of lead wire and cut excess with wire cutters.
- If lead wires were cut, strip 1/2 in. of insulation from the white wire. Twist stripped ends with pliers. Repeat for black and blue wires.
- Install the ball end of the downrod (A) into the opening of mounting bracket (D). Align one of the four slots in the ball with the tab in the mounting bracket (D). DANGER: Failure to align the slot with the tab may cause the fan to wobble or fall, resulting in serious injury or death.
- Proceed to Wiring on page 12.
Close Mount Instructions
- Remove canopy cover (F) from the bottom of the canopy (E).
- Remove three Phillips-head close mount screws (V) from the top of the motor assembly (G). Align canopy (E) with holes in the top of motor assembly (G), then re-install screws (V) to secure canopy (E) to motor assembly (G).
- Raise the fan and place canopy (E) on the hook on the mounting bracket (D), leaving hands free for wiring.
Wiring
WARNING: Wire connectors are designed for one 12-gauge house wire and two fan lead wires. Consult an electrician if your house wire is larger than 12-gauge or if there is more than one house wire to connect.
CAUTION: Ensure the outlet box is properly grounded or has a ground (green or bare) wire.
- Connect household supply and fan wires:
- Connect the Green wire from the downrod (A) and mounting bracket (D) to the Bare/Green supply wire. (For close mount, there will be two Green wires to connect.)
- Connect the White wire from the fan to the White supply wire.
- Connect the Black and Blue wires from the fan to the Black supply wire.
- Secure all connections with wire connectors (AA).
Note: If a second hot/power wire exists, connect it to the Blue (light power) fan wire for separate light and fan control.
Note: Black wire is hot power for the fan. White wire is common for fan and light kit. Blue wire is hot power for light. Green wire is ground. If household supply wires differ in color, consult a professional electrician.
- Wrap electrical tape around each wire connector (AA) down to the wire.
- Turn spliced/taped wires upward and push them and wire connectors (AA) into the outlet box. WARNING: Ensure no bare wire or strands are visible. Place Green and White wire connections on the opposite side of the outlet box from the Black and Blue wire connection(s).
Final Installation
- Align canopy (E) over mounting bracket screws (S) on mounting bracket (D). Place keyholes of canopy (E) onto screws (S) and rotate canopy (E) clockwise.
- Secure canopy (E) with mounting bracket screws (S) removed earlier. Tighten all screws securely.
- Partially insert blade screws (BB) with blade washers (CC) through the blade (Q) and into the blade arm (P). Tighten each screw (BB) with a Phillips screwdriver, starting with the middle one. Repeat for remaining blades (Q) and arms (P).
- Install blade arm (P) to the underside of the motor assembly (G) with motor screws (R). Tighten with Phillips screwdriver. Repeat for each blade arm (P). The notch in fitter plate (H) allows screwdriver access.
