1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read all warnings posted on the equipment.
  2. Read this Owner's Manual and follow it carefully before using the equipment.
  3. We recommend that two people be available for assembly of this product.
  4. Keep children and pets away from the equipment. Do not allow children and pets to use or play on the equipment.
  5. Make sure it is correctly assembled before start using it.
  6. Place the equipment in a dry area away from humid, saline or corrosive environments.
  7. Set up and operate the equipment on a solid level surface. Do not position the equipment on loose rugs or uneven surfaces.
  8. Inspect the equipment for worn or loose components prior to each use.
  9. Replace any loose or worn components prior to using the equipment and/or keep the equipment out of service until it has been completely repaired.
  10. Do not wear loose or dangling clothing while using the equipment.
  11. Never exercise in bare feet or socks; always wear correct footwear, such as running, walking or cross-training shoes.
  12. Be careful to maintain your balance while using, mounting, dismounting, or assembling the equipment; loss of balance may result in a fall and serious bodily injury.
  13. Keep both feet firmly and securely on the foot pedals or on the band (in case of treadmills) while exercising.
  14. The equipment should not be used by persons weighing over 130 kg.
  15. The equipment should be used by only one person at a time.
  16. The equipment is for light commercial use.
  17. Make sure that adequate space is available for access to and passage around the equipment; keep at least a distance of 1 meter from any obstruction object while using the machine.
  18. Do the maintenance of the equipment indicated in this manual.

⚠️ ATTENTION: Before starting any exercise or conditioning program you should consult with your personal physician to see if you require a complete physical exam. If, at any time during exercise, you feel faint, dizzy, or experience pain, stop and consult your physician. Follow your physician's recommendations in developing your own personal fitness program. Always choose the workout which best fits your physical strength and flexibility level. Know your limits and train within them. Always use common sense when exercising.

3. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your Salter RS-23 Elliptical. Tools are provided.

STEP 1: ASSEMBLY FOR REAR STABILIZER

STEP 8: HOW TO USE THE ADAPTOR

4. HOW TO MOVE THE MACHINE

5. CONSOLE FUNCTION BUTTON FUNCTIONS

The console features several buttons to control your workout. Below is a description of each button and its function.

Button Function
UP To make upward adjustment to each function data or increase training resistance.
DOWN To make downward adjustment to each function data or decrease training resistance.
ENTER Press to confirm all settings.
START / STOP To start or stop workout. Press the START/STOP button under standby mode; it can be a quick start key to the Manual Program.
RESET To reset current setting and have the monitor switch to initial training mode for selection.
TOTAL RESET Press the TOTAL RESET button to Total Reset the Console.
RECOVERY To active RECOVERY function.

The console displays various metrics during your workout:

Metric Description
TIME Time will count up from 00:00 to maximum 99:00 with each increment is 1 minute.
SPEED Displays current training speed. Maximum speed is 99.9 KM/H or ML/H.
RPM Displays the Rotation Per Minute. Display range 0~100 RPM.
DISTANCE Accumulates total distance from 00:0 up to 99.9 KM or ML. The user may preset target distance data by turning the UP/DOWN joggle wheel. Each increment is 0.1KM or ML.
CALORIES Accumulates calories consumption during training from 0 to maximum 990 calories. Each unit for increase or decrease is 10 KCL. (This data is a rough guide for comparison of different exercise sessions which can not be used in medical treatment.)
PULSE User may set up target pulse from 0-30 to 230.
WATTS Display current workout watts. Display range 0~999.

DISPLAY FUNCTIONS

POWER ON

  1. Connect power supply to the monitor or press the RESET button for 2 seconds. The LCD will display all segments with a long beep sound for 2 seconds and display 78.0 (FIGURE 1 & 2).
  2. User may scroll the jog dial to select User 1~4 and press ENTER for confirmation (FIGURE 3~4). Then preset user information for SEX, AGE, HEIGHT and WEIGHT (FIGURE 4~7).

PROGRAMMING MODE

  1. Program selections include MANUAL PROGRAM, USER PROGRAM, H.R.C. WATT (FIGURE 8~12).
  2. Scroll the jog dial to select the desired program and press ENTER to confirm. Or press START/STOP button to start MANUAL mode immediately.

QUICK START IN MANUAL

  1. Press ENTER to enter MANUAL program; the screen will be blinking (FIGURE 13).
  2. Press START/STOP to start exercising. The resistance level is adjustable during exercising (FIGURE 14).
  3. User can press START/STOP to stop exercising.

MANUAL MODE

  1. After selecting MANUAL mode (FIGURE 13), use the UP/DOWN joggle wheel to increase or decrease the level (from 1 to 16) and press ENTER to confirm.
  2. User may preset exercise data (TIME, DISTANCE, CALORIES, PULSE), and press START/STOP to start exercise.
  3. User can press RESET to return to the MANUAL setting.
  4. Level is adjustable during training.

PROGRAM MODE

  1. After entering PROGRAM mode, scroll the jog dial to select a program profile from P1 to P12, then press ENTER to confirm.
  2. User can preset the TIME data, then press START/STOP to start exercise.
  3. After starting training, TIME will count down. When TIME reaches 0, the screen flashes and an alarm rings. User can press any button to stop the alarm.

USER PROGRAM

  1. After entering USER PROGRAM mode, the first column of the profile is blinking (FIGURE 25). User may scroll the jog dial to adjust the resistance level (FIGURE 26) to create their own profile.
  2. After setting (from column 1 to column 20), hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to quit profile setting and enter TIME setting.
  3. While making the profile setting, user can press RESET to return to the menu.
  4. After starting training (FIGURE 27~29), TIME will count down. When TIME reaches 0, the screen flashes and an alarm rings. User can press any button to stop the alarm.

HEART RATE CONTROL

  1. After entering HEART RATE CONTROL mode, the screen will show heart rate percentage 55%, 75%, 90% and TARGET. User may select heart rate percentage by scrolling the jog dial for training.
  2. User can preset the TIME data, then press START/STOP to start exercise.
  3. After starting training, TIME will count down. When TIME reaches 0, the screen flashes and an alarm rings. User can press any button to stop the alarm.

If there is no HR input for 5 seconds, the LCD will display '♥?' until HR signal input.

WATT CONSTANT

  1. In standby mode, select WATT and press ENTER to enter.
  2. The preset watt value 120 is flashing on screen; scroll the jog dial to set the target value from 10 to 350. Press START button to start training.
  3. User can preset the TIME data, then press START/STOP to start exercise.
  4. After starting training, TIME will count down. When TIME reaches 0, the screen flashes and an alarm rings. User can press any button to stop the alarm.
  5. Watt value is adjustable during training. User can turn the joggle wheel to adjust the Watt according to the instruction:
  • Watt value > Setting value 25% --- User should slow down.
  • Watt value in the Setting value 25% --- User should keep the same speed.
  • Watt value < Setting value 25% --- User should ride faster.

RECOVERY

After exercising for a period of time, keep holding on the handgrips and press the “RECOVERY” button. All function displays will stop except “TIME”, which starts counting down from 00:60 to 00:00. The screen will display your heart rate recovery status with F1, F2... to F6. F1 is the best, F6 is the worst. User may keep exercising to improve the heart rate recovery status. (Press the RECOVERY button again to return to the main display).

NOTES

  • When the user stops pedaling for 4 minutes, the computer will enter power save mode. All settings and exercise data will be stored until the user starts exercising again.
  • This computer requires a 9V, 1A adaptor.
  • When the computer acts abnormally, please unplug the adaptor and plug it in again.

STREAM THE WORKOUT NOTICE

This console is equipped with a Bluetooth interface. Please note that your mobile device needs to be compatible with the Bluetooth interface (Bluetooth 4.0).

To use training apps, you will have to activate the Bluetooth function on your mobile device (tablet or smartphone) and start the fitness app. Select your fitness equipment. Please follow the instructions given in the app. You will find the name of your fitness equipment on a small sticker on the back of the console.

7. MAINTENANCE

Dry and clean areas exposed to perspiration. It is recommended to use towels to avoid sweat falling onto the equipment.

Dust and dirt may cause functioning problems in the gears and internal bearings. It is recommended to keep the equipment casing and its different elements clean.

8. ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE
