Managing Your Phone
Update Software: Navigate to Settings > System > System Update.
Back Up Data: Go to Settings > System > Backup > Back up to Google One.
Reset Phone: Access Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) > Erase all data.
Your TCL Phone: Keys and Connectors
This section details the physical components of your TCL smartphone.
- Front Camera: Located at the top center of the display.
- SIM and microSD™ Tray: Situated on the left side of the device.
- Display: A 6.78-inch screen is the primary interface.
- Volume Buttons: Located on the right side for adjusting audio levels.
- Power/Lock Key and Fingerprint Sensor: Positioned on the right side, below the volume buttons, for device security and power management.
- Headset Connector: Found at the bottom left of the device.
- USB Type-C Connector: Located at the bottom center for charging and data transfer.
Rear View
The rear of the TCL phone features:
- Rear Cameras: A cluster of cameras is located at the top.
- Flash: Positioned adjacent to the rear cameras.
- Branding: "TCL" is visible on the lower back panel.
- Camera Specification: Features a 50MP HYBRID CAMERA system.
Setting Up Your TCL Phone
- Your new phone comes partially charged. Connect it to the provided USB-C cable and charger to charge the battery.
- Use the included SIM pin tool to open the SIM tray.
- Insert your Nano SIM card and/or microSD™ card into the designated slots on the tray, then slide the tray back into the phone.
Note: microSD™ cards are sold separately. Ensure you use only Nano SIM cards with your phone.
Caution: Avoid inserting the SIM pin into any small holes on the top or bottom of the phone.
Home Screen
Organize your most-used applications, folders, and widgets on the Home screen for quick access.
Tapping the Home icon ? will always return you to the main Home screen.
Enhance your Home screen experience by adding widgets and personalizing its appearance.
Notifications and Quick Settings
Swipe down from the Status bar to access the Notification panel and view all pending notifications. Tap a notification to open the associated message or app.
Swipe down again to reveal Quick Access settings. Tap the ⚙️ icon to access the full Settings menu.
Messages
Create, edit, send, and receive text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages. An SMS message automatically converts to MMS if media files (like images, videos, or audio), a subject, or an email address for the recipient is included.
Messaging Interface Actions:
- 1. Send Message: Tap to send your message.
- 2. Switch Language: Touch and hold to change keyboard language if multiple are activated.
- 3. Attach Media: Attach a picture from your gallery or take a new one directly.
- 4. Insert File: Add a GIF, location, contact, or other media file.
- 5. Comma Input: Tap for a comma. Touch and hold to access keyboard settings or switch to left/right-hand input mode.
- 6. Symbols/Numbers: Tap to access the symbols and numbers keyboards.
Gmail
Use the Gmail app to create, send, and receive emails directly from your phone. The app supports adding multiple email accounts.
Gmail Interface Actions:
- 1. Select Conversation: Tap a sender's image to select that conversation.
- 2. Navigate: Tap to view email accounts on your device, access email folders, and settings.
- 3. Compose Email: Tap to create a new email.
