Quick Start User Guide
Designed in the United Kingdom
Introduction
The Entel HTx44 series comprises professional, IP68 submersible marine handheld radios operating on the VHF marine band. These radios feature 56 marine international channels and 36 dealer-programmable private channels.
This quick guide provides essential operating instructions for your radio. A comprehensive user guide is available for download from the Entel website: www.entel.co.uk.
To meet specific operational requirements, your radio may have been customized by your Entel dealer. Details of these features will be provided in a separate guide issued by the dealer.

Battery Information
Battery Charging
- Connect the AC adapter to the charger pod and plug it into a power source.
- Turn the radio off.
- Insert the battery pack into the charger pod, with or without the radio attached. The charger LED status light will turn red, indicating charging has begun.
- When charging is complete, the charger status LED will change from red to green. A fully discharged battery pack typically takes approximately 6 hours to recharge.
Caution: Battery Pack Precautions
- Do not recharge the battery pack if it is already fully charged, as this may reduce its lifespan.
- After charging is complete, remove the battery from the charger.
- Ensure the radio is turned off before placing it in the charger. Never switch a radio on while it is in the charger.
- Only use Entel branded battery packs and chargers.
- Do not short the battery terminals or dispose of the battery in a fire.
- Do not charge the radio and/or battery pack if they are wet.
Danger
DO NOT DISASSEMBLE OR MODIFY THE BATTERY IN ANY WAY!
Your Entel battery pack incorporates a safety circuit to prevent danger. If this safety circuit is damaged or bypassed, or if the battery cells are damaged directly, they may generate extreme heat, smoke, rupture, and emit flames.
