Important Safeguards
Always follow basic safety precautions, especially when children are present:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Do not immerse the mixer or cord in water or other liquids. Unplug immediately if it falls into liquid.
- Close supervision is required when used by or near children. Ensure children do not play with the appliance.
- Turn off and unplug the appliance when not in use, before assembling/disassembling parts, and before cleaning. Grasp the plug to unplug, never the cord.
- Avoid contact with moving parts (beaters). Keep hands, hair, and clothing away.
- Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or if the appliance malfunctions. Contact customer service for repair.
- Use only Cuisinart-recommended attachments.
- Do not use outdoors or where the cord may contact water.
- Prevent the cord from hanging over edges or touching hot surfaces.
- Do not operate in appliance garages or under wall cabinets; unplug when storing.
Notice: The appliance has a polarized plug. The maximum rating is 200W.
Use, Care & Maintenance
- Inserting Beaters: Insert beaters with collar into the larger hole and without collar into the smaller hole until they click.
- Turning On/Changing Speeds: Push the switch forward to Speed 1 to turn on, and push forward to increase speed. Push back to OFF.
- Removing & Cleaning Beaters: Set speed to OFF, unplug, lift beater release lever, and remove beaters. Wash in hot, soapy water or dishwasher.
- Cleaning Motor Housing: Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive cleansers. NEVER IMMERSE THE MOTOR HOUSING IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS.
- Maintenance: Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
Quick Reference Guide: Mixing Techniques
Start mixing at the lowest speed and gradually increase:
- Speed 1: Mixing most ingredients, combining dry ingredients, creaming butter/sugar, whipping cream/egg whites, adding flour/liquids.
- Speed 2: Sifting dry ingredients, mashing potatoes, mixing cookie dough, adding nuts/chips/fruit, mixing pudding, cutting cold butter.
- Speed 3: Finishing cake mixes/frostings, whipping potatoes, beating whole eggs/yolks.
Note: Do not use the Cuisinart® Hand Mixer on nonstick cookware.

Unpacking Instructions
CAUTION: The cutting blade is very sharp.
- Carefully remove the unit from the box.
- Lift the protective cardboard off the blade shaft.
- CAREFULLY remove the metal blade by grasping the center hub. NEVER TOUCH THE BLADE ITSELF.
- Read instructions thoroughly before use.

Assembly Instructions
Visual Description: The processor consists of a motor base, a 3-cup work bowl with handle, a sharp metal blade, and a lid.
- Place the work bowl over the motor base stem and turn clockwise to lock.
- Grip the blade by its hub and place it on the center stem until it drops to the bottom. NEVER TOUCH THE BLADE.
- Add food ingredients.
- Place the cover on the work bowl, ensuring the long tab is correctly positioned.
- Turn the cover counterclockwise to lock.
- Plug the unit into a wall socket.
Tips for Processing Food
- Size: Cut food into uniform pieces (approx. 1/2 inch or as specified).
- Quantity: Do not overload the bowl (max 2/3 full). Support the unit with one hand during operation.
- Selecting Controls: Use 'CHOP' for chopping, puréeing, mixing soft foods (herbs, garlic, vegetables). Use 'GRIND' for spices and hard foods (peppercorns, nuts, seeds).
- Pulse Action: Best for controlling texture and preventing overprocessing.
- Adding Liquid: Pour through one opening at a time to allow air to escape.
- Removing Food: After the blade stops, remove the cover and use the spatula to scrape food from the sides.
Cleaning and Storage
- Rinse bowl, cover, and blade immediately after use.
- Wash blade assembly, bowl, cover, and spatula in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Wash blade carefully.
- Wipe motor base with a damp cloth. Never submerge the motor base or plug in water.
- Store the unit assembled to prevent loss of parts. Store blades safely out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
- Motor won't start/blade won't turn: Check plug, ensure bowl and cover are securely locked, press only one control button at a time.
- Uneven Chopping: Food pieces too large or bowl overloaded. Cut food smaller, process smaller batches.
- Food too fine/watery: Overprocessed. Use brief pulses or shorter processing times.
- Food sticks to cover/sides: Bowl may be overloaded. Turn off, wait for blade to stop, remove cover, and scrape.
- Food catches on blade: Bowl may be overloaded. Carefully remove blade and food, then restart.
