Chapter 2: Calibration Procedures

This chapter outlines the steps to adjust (calibrate) the monitor's color mode according to your application.

Attention: Ensure the computer and monitor are connected via USB. For external measurement devices, connect them to a USB downstream port.

  1. Select a Color Mode: Choose the desired color mode from the list in the main window.
  2. Select a Target: Select the appropriate target from the Target Selection List. The target details area will display the selected target's values.
  3. Initiate Calibration: Click the "Calibrate..." button.
  4. Select Measurement Device: The "Measurement device selection" window appears. Choose your measurement device and click to proceed. Initialize the device if prompted.
  5. Install Measurement Device: Follow on-screen instructions to connect and position the measurement device on the monitor. For devices that contact the monitor, tilt the panel slightly upward.
  6. Proceed with Measurement: Click the "Proceed" button. The measurement pattern will appear, and calibration will begin automatically.
  7. Complete Adjustment: Once calibration is finished, the "Calibration completed" window will show the results. Click "Finish" to complete the process.

Attention during Measurement: Prevent ambient light from affecting the sensor unit. Ensure room lighting remains constant and block external light sources.

Note: If using a model with a built-in correction sensor in Advanced Mode, the sensor measures white points after adjustments, referencing the result for Self Correction.

Chapter 3: Manual Adjustment

After calibration, display status can be fine-tuned manually.

Manually Adjusting Targets in Standard Mode

In Standard Mode, white points and brightness can be adjusted manually. For detailed target editing, refer to Chapter 4.

  1. Select Color Mode: Choose the relevant color mode.
  2. Access Manual Adjustment: Right-click the color mode and select "Manual adjustment" from the menu.
  3. Adjust Items: Use sliders and controls in the "Manual adjustment" window to fine-tune Brightness and White point. Options like "Preview" allow real-time viewing of changes. A "Show pattern" option displays a test pattern.
  4. Confirm Changes: Click "OK" to apply adjustments. If "Create a new target" is checked, the changes will be saved as a new target. Otherwise, the current target will be overwritten.

Manually Adjusting Targets in Advanced Mode

Advanced Mode allows manual adjustment of white point, brightness, black level, gamma (EOTF), and the 6 primary/secondary colors (Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow). Calibration must be performed first.

  1. Select Color Mode: Choose the desired color mode.
  2. Access Manual Adjustment: Right-click and select "Manual adjustment".
  3. Adjust Items: The "Manual adjustment" window provides controls for Brightness, Black level, White point, Gamma, and 6 Colors (Hue, Saturation, Lightness). Adjustments are made while viewing the monitor.
  4. Measure Status: After adjustments, use the measurement device to measure the current status.
  5. Complete and Save: Follow the measurement device selection and proceed steps similar to calibration. Save the results by clicking "Finish".
