Front Panel Layout
The front panel of the UniRec Process Data Recorder features a 2 X 16 LCD Display for information, a Pen Drive Slot for data storage, and an AUTO LED Indicator for status.
Keypad and Operation:

PV Error Indications:
Error Message | Cause |

Over Range | Process Value exceeds the Maximum Range. |
Under Range | Process Value is below the Minimum Range. |
Sensor Open | Thermocouple or RTD sensor is broken or disconnected. |
Com. Fail | Communication link with the connected device is broken. |
Electrical Connections
The UniRec unit provides terminals for external connections, including:
- Batch Start Switch
- Alarm ACK Switch
- Comm Port (RS485 A, RS485 B)
- AC SUPPLY (85-265V AC)
It also features Relay outputs (RLY C, RLY NO, RLY NC) and Alarm outputs (Alarm-1, Alarm-2, Alarm-3, Alarm-4).
Wiring Connection Diagram Description
The wiring diagram illustrates the connection of the UniRec unit to external devices using RS485 communication.
UniRec Main Unit:
- Terminals 1-9 are designated for internal UniRec functions and RS485 communication.
- RS485 communication utilizes terminals labeled 'A+' and 'B-'.
- Power input is via AC SUPPLY (85-265V AC) connected to terminals 10 and 11.
- Relay outputs are available on terminals 12 (C), 13 (NO), and 14 (NC).
- Alarm outputs are provided on terminals 15 (Alarm-1), 16 (Alarm-2), 17 (Alarm-3), and 18 (Alarm-4).
Connection to PPI Zenex Device:
- The Zenex device connects to the UniRec via RS485.
- The connection utilizes terminals 1 through 18 on the Zenex device, mirroring the UniRec's terminal assignments where applicable.
- The Slave ID for the Zenex device is configured as 1.
Connection to PPI HumiTherm Device:
- The HumiTherm device connects to the UniRec via RS485.
- The connection utilizes terminals 1 through 18 on the HumiTherm device, mirroring the UniRec's terminal assignments where applicable.
- The Slave ID for the HumiTherm device is configured as 1.
