Shelly Plus 2PM: User and Safety Guide
2 Circuit Wi-Fi Relay Switch with Power Measurement and Cover Control Capability
Product Introduction
Shelly® devices are innovative microprocessor-managed devices that allow remote control of electric appliances via mobile phone, tablet, PC, or home automation systems. They can operate standalone in a local Wi-Fi network or through cloud services like Shelly Cloud, accessible via Android, iOS, or web browsers. Shelly devices can be accessed and monitored remotely with internet connectivity, provided they are connected to a Wi-Fi router. The embedded Web Interface, accessible via the device's IP address, allows for monitoring, control, and settings adjustment.
Shelly devices can communicate directly with other Wi-Fi devices using HTTP protocol. An API is provided by Allterco Robotics EOOD. Shelly devices are delivered with factory-installed firmware, and updates are provided free of charge through the Web Interface or the Shelly Mobile Application. Shelly® Plus line products offer precise real-time power measurement.
Shelly® devices are compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. For compatibility details, visit: https://shelly.cloud/support/compatibility/.

Installation Instructions
The Shelly® Plus 2PM controls 2 electrical circuits, including a bi-directional AC motor. Each circuit supports up to 10A (16A total for both circuits) and individual power consumption measurement (AC only). It can be installed in standard in-wall consoles, behind power sockets, or light switches.
⚠ CAUTION! Danger of electrocution. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure no voltage is present at the terminals before making any connection changes.
⚠ CAUTION! Use the device only with power grids and appliances complying with applicable regulations. Short circuits may damage the device. Do not connect appliances exceeding the maximum load. Install only as shown in the instructions. Avoid wet locations.
⚠ RECOMMENDATION: Use solid single-core cables with insulation heat resistance not less than PVC T105°C.
Before installation, turn off breakers and verify there is no voltage using a phase meter or multimeter.
AC Circuits:
Connect both L terminals to the Live cable and the N terminal to the Neutral cable. Connect load circuits to O1/O2 terminals and the Neutral cable. Connect switches to S1/S2 terminals and the Live cable.
DC Circuits:
Connect both L terminals to the Negative cable and the N terminal to the Positive cable. Connect load circuits to O1/O2 terminals and the Positive cable. Connect switches to S1/S2 terminals and the Negative cable.
⚠ RECOMMENDATION: For inductive loads (e.g., motors), connect an RC snubber (0.1µF / 100Ω / 1/2W / 600V AC) in parallel with the appliance to prevent voltage spikes. Purchase RC snubbers at: https://shop.shelly.cloud/rc-snubber-wifi-smart-home-automation.
Cover Controller Modes:
Shelly® Plus 2PM can operate as a cover controller in three modes: detached, single input, or dual input.
Detached Mode:
Control via WebUI and App only. Switches connected to the device do not control motor rotation. Connect as shown in Fig. 3: L terminals to Live, N to Neutral. Connect common motor terminal to Neutral. Connect motor direction terminals to O1 and O2.
Single Input Mode:
Button Input (Fig. 4): Connect L terminals to Live, N to Neutral. Connect common motor terminal to Neutral. Connect motor direction terminals to O1 and O2. Connect button to S1 and Live. Button press cycles open, stop, close, stop.
Switch Input (Fig. 5): Connect L terminals to Live, N to Neutral. Connect common motor terminal to Neutral. Connect motor direction terminals to O1 and O2. Connect switch to S1 and Live. Switch toggle cycles open, stop, close, stop.
Safety Switch Functionality (Fig. 6 for button, Fig. 7 for switch): Connect L terminals to Live, N to Neutral. Connect common motor terminal to Neutral. Connect motor direction terminals to O1 and O2. Connect controlling button/switch to S1 and Live. Connect safety switch to S2 and Live.
The safety switch can be configured to stop movement until disengaged, or stop and reverse movement. It can also be configured to stop movement in one or both directions.
Dual Input Mode:
Button Inputs (Fig. 8): Connect L terminals to Live, N to Neutral. Connect common motor terminal to Neutral. Connect motor direction terminals to O1 and O2. Connect first button to S1 and Live. Connect second button to S2 and Live. Pressing a button moves the cover in the corresponding direction. Pressing the same direction button again stops it. Pressing the opposite direction button reverses movement.
Switch Inputs (Fig. 9): Connect L terminals to Live, N to Neutral. Connect common motor terminal to Neutral. Connect motor direction terminals to O1 and O2. Connect first switch to S1 and Live. Connect second switch to S2 and Live. Turning a switch on moves the cover. Turning it off stops movement. If both switches are on, the last engaged switch is respected. Turning off the last engaged switch stops movement.
Shelly® Plus 2PM can detect obstacles, stopping or reversing cover movement if an obstacle is encountered. This feature can be enabled/disabled for one or both directions.
Troubleshooting
For installation or operation issues, consult the knowledge base: https://www.shelly.cloud/knowledge-base/devices/shelly-plus-2pm/.
*Device outputs can be reconfigured for required rotation direction.
**Interaction with button, switch, or control in WebUI/App must command cover in the opposite direction before safety switch engagement.
Initial Inclusion
For use with the Shelly Cloud mobile application and service, refer to the “App Guide”. The device functions without Shelly Cloud. It can be used with other home automation services.
⚠ CAUTION! Keep devices and control tools (phones, tablets, PCs) away from children. Do not allow children to play with connected buttons/switches.
