Edge Duo is a dual- membrane condenser microphone it has one capsule wit h dual membranes and connect s wit h an Y- XLR cable (included), one XLR connect or for each membrane. The Left (whit e/ blue) connect or is t he front membrane, t he Right (red) is for t he rear membrane.

Not e: You can use Edge Duo as a single- membrane condenser mic by disconnect ing one of t he XLR connect ors. In t his case, t he mic emulat ions will be visible, funct ion correct ly, you cannot swap input s and you cannot adjust polar pat t ern.

Edge Quadro is a quad- membrane condenser microphone it has t wo heads, each wit h dual membranes. The Top head rot at es 360- degrees, enabling st ereo recording t echniques such as M/ S, X/ Y, Blumlein, and even 3D sound. Therefore, t he microphone is bundled wit h a pair of Y- XLR cables. Their Left (Whit e or Blue *) connect ors are for t he front membranes, and t heir Right (red) connect ors are for t he rear membranes.
* Later Edge Quadro revisions ship with Red and Blue Y- cables instead of Red and White Y- cables. The difference is purely cosmet ic. Thus, the Blue connector corresponds to the older White connector.
However, each cable is designat ed for eit her t he Top or Bot t om head, and labeled accordingly T (Top) or B (Bot t om). The input s on t he microphone are labeled t oo, let t ing you know where each cable needs t o be connect ed.

The possible configurat ions are: 1. Top Head Front and Rear Membranes. 2. Bot t om Head Front and Rear Membranes. 3. Top Head Front Membrane. Bot t om Head Front Membrane. 4. Top Head Front Membrane. Bot t om Head Rear Membrane. 5. Top Head Rear Membrane. Bot t om Head Front Membrane. 6. Top Head Rear Membrane. Bot t om Head Rear Membrane. As a quad- membrane rot at able condenser microphone. Connect all XLRs from bot h heads wit h t he corresponding cables. This is t he only opt ion for using t he Edge Quadro mic emulat ions.
Edge Quadro Mic Emulat ions Window Edge Quadro and Edge Duo mic emulat ions are ident ical, except for t he abilit y t o apply t wo different mic emulat ions in unison - one for each head complet e wit h t wo different polar pat t erns t hat are also swappable. All in all, t he funct ionalit y is t he same, but wit h t wo mic emulat ion select ors and t wo polar pat t ern changers.
