1. Product Layout

HM65X

The HM65X digital mobile radio features the following:

• Aviation Port: Located on the front of the radio.
• LED Indicator: On-Off indicator on the front.
• On-Off Key: Front-facing key for power control.
• DIGITAL MOBILE RADIO: Label indicating the device type.
• RF Antenna Connector: Located on the rear for antenna connection.
• Power Inlet: Rear-facing port for power connection.
• Accessory Connector: Rear-facing port for accessories.
• GPS Antenna Connector: Rear-facing port for GPS antenna connection.

Palm Microphone

The palm microphone allows for radio operation and includes:

• Aviation Port: Connection point on the microphone.
• LCD Display: Shows radio information.
• Key: Programmable keys (TK, P1, P2) can be assigned as shortcuts to radio features by your dealer.
• Microphone: For voice transmission.
• Speaker: For audio output.
• Push-to-Talk (PTT) Key: Used to initiate transmissions.
• Buckle: For attaching the microphone.

2. Basic Operation

2.1 Turn On or Off the Radio

Long press the On-Off key on the HM65X or the palm microphone to turn the radio on or off.

2.2 Adjust the Volume

You can adjust the volume using the microphone:

• On the home screen, press the < key to decrease the volume or the > key to increase the volume.
• Press the key to locate the cursor to [volume indicator] and then press the < or > key.

2.3 Select the Zone

• On the home screen, press the key to locate the cursor to the zone number, and then press the < or > key.
• Press the preprogrammed Zone Up or Zone Down key.

2.4 Select the Channel

• On the home screen, press the key to locate the cursor to the channel number, and then press the < or > key.
• Press the preprogrammed Channel Up or Channel Down key.
• To directly select a preset channel, press the preprogrammed Preset Channel key.

4. Call Services

To ensure optimal voice quality on the receiving radio, keep the microphone 2.5 cm to 5 cm away from your mouth during speaking.

4.1 Make a Call on Digital Channel

• On the home screen, select a digital channel, and then press and hold the PTT key.
• Press the programmed One Touch Call key, and then press and hold the PTT key.

4.2 Make a Call on Analog Channel

• Call Without Signaling
  1. On the home screen, select an analog channel.
  2. Press and hold the PTT key.
• Call with Signaling
  1. On the home screen, select an analog channel.
  2. Press the PTT key or the preprogrammed One Touch Call key.

4.3 Emergency Call

The Emergency feature is configured and enabled by your dealer. For details, refer to the User Manual.

To ensure optimal performance and compliance with the occupational/controlled environment RF energy exposure limits in the above standards and guidelines, users should always adhere to the followings:

Antenna Installation

Install the antenna at least 50 cm away from your body, in accordance with the requirements of the antenna manufacturer/supplier.

This radio complies with IEEE and ICNIRP exposure limits for occupational/controlled RF exposure environment at operating duty factors of up to 50% and is authorized by the FCC for occupational use only.
