This document provides instructions for the 2007 Mercedes-Benz C 350, specifically for models 203.0, 203.2, 203.7, 208, 210, and 215.

Multifunction Steering Wheel Controls

Diagrams illustrate the multifunction steering wheel controls used in various Mercedes-Benz models covered by this document. These controls are used to navigate menus and perform operations within the Active Service System (ASSYST).

Button Functions

  • S110s1: Scroll forward/back button [⬆️/⬇️]
  • S110s3: System selection button [⚙️]
  • S111s1: + and - specific function setting and volume control button [➕/➖]
  • S111s3: Accept/terminate phone call button [?]

General Information

The Active Service System (ASSYST) is operated via a reset button on the instrument cluster (A1). The location of this button varies by model: on the left side for models 203, 208, and 210, and on the right side for model 215. Menu items are selected using the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) and the system selection button (S110s3) of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).

Procedures

Display Service Indicator

A function requirement is that the ignition key (models 208, 210) or transmitter key (A8/1) (models 203, 215) must be in position "circuit 15R ON" or "circuit 15 ON", or the vehicle must be in driving mode. The driver must observe the following procedure to display the service indicator:

Procedure:

  • Press the system selection button (S110s3) repeatedly until the basic display with the total and daily distance is shown on the multifunction display (A1p13). This step is only necessary if the basic display is not yet shown.
  • Press the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) until the service symbol and the current remaining distance, remaining time, or service exceeded are displayed.

Display Engine-Oil Level

A function requirement is that the ignition key (models 208, 210) or transmitter key (A8/1) (models 203, 215) is set to position "circuit 15 ON". The following procedure is required to display the engine oil level:

Procedure:

  • Press the system selection button (S110s3) repeatedly until the multifunction display (A1p13) shows the basic display (total and trip odometer) (only necessary if basic display is not yet shown).
  • Press scroll forward/back button (S110s1) repeatedly until the multifunction display (A1p13) shows the oil can symbol [?️] and the message "Engine oil level - Vehicle must be on level ground" is displayed.
  • If the vehicle is not level, cancel the measurement by pressing the system selection button (S110s3) again within 3 seconds.
  • If the measurement is not canceled, after approximately 3 seconds, the message "Engine oil level measurement is running" is displayed followed by the current oil level message. Note: Faulty measurements may occur if the vehicle is not on a level ground during a measurement.

Resetting ASSYST (Oil Change Reset)

A function requirement is that the ignition key (models 208, 210) or transmitter key (A8/1) (models 203, 215) is set to position "circuit 15R ON". The following procedure is required to reset the ASSYST:

Procedure:

  • Press the system selection pushbutton (S110s3) until the multifunction display (A1p13) shows the default image (total and trip recorder). This is only necessary if the basic display is not yet shown.
  • Press the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) repeatedly until the service symbol and the current remaining distance, remaining time, or service exceeded are displayed.
  • Press the reset button on the instrument cluster (A1) for approximately 3 seconds, until the multifunction display (A1p13) shows "Do you want to reset the service interval? Confirm with the R button" is displayed.
  • Press the reset button on the instrument cluster (A1) again within 5 seconds.
  • The current "Remaining distance" in kilometers or miles appears in the multifunction display (A1p13).

Important Notes:

  • Reset ASSYST (Oil change reset) only after changing the oil.
  • The oil change reset should be carried out using STAR DIAGNOSIS if possible.
  • An inadvertently conducted oil change reset can only be revoked using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
