Product Overview

The Sky-Watcher EQ5 Pro Go-To Mount with steel tripod is a sturdy and heavy-duty equatorial mount designed for professional astronomers. It offers a 10 kg payload capacity, suitable for holding telescopes up to 200mm reflectors or 150mm refractors. The mount features an integrated bubble level and adjustable tripod legs for easy leveling, along with azimuth and altitude adjustments for precise polar alignment. Fine adjustment knobs facilitate easy tracking of celestial objects, even at high magnifications.

The SynScan Go-To system provides full control of both R.A. and Dec. axes with 9 slew speeds and 5 arcminute pointing precision. It allows for quick and accurate location of celestial objects, including planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies. The system includes a database of 42,900 memorized celestial objects. The Deep Sky Tour function suggests visible deep sky objects, enabling novice astronomers to observe faint objects easily.

Aligning the equatorial mount is a straightforward process. Once the tripod is leveled and the mount is oriented South, the mount inclination should be set to match the local latitude. For example, in Sydney (latitude 33° South), the mount inclination should be adjusted to 33° above the horizon using the scale on the EQ5 mount.
