Applications and Installation
The HI981520 is ideal for testing and monitoring salinity in saltwater aquariums and aquaculture. It continuously monitors and displays conductivity and pH, with options for calibrating at one or two points for pH and one point for conductivity.
Seawater salinity can be expressed in several units:
- ppt (parts per thousand): Based on the Natural Seawater Scale, covering 0.00 to 80.00 g/L and temperatures from 10 to 31 ℃.
- PSU (Practical Salinity Units): Relates the electrical conductivity of seawater to a potassium chloride solution. The scale ranges from 0 to 42.00 psu at temperatures between 0 to 35 ℃.
- S.G. (Specific Gravity): Expressed as the ratio of seawater density to pure water density at specific temperatures.
Installation:
The probes can be installed or immersed directly into a tank or aquarium using the supplied suction cups. Each probe features a 2 m (6.6') cable for extended reach.
