Do not allow children to play. ASSEMBLY PRECAUTIONS 1. Assemble only according to these instructions. Improper assembly can create hazards. 2. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during assembly and use. 3. Keep assembly area clean and well-lit. 4. Keep bystanders out of the area during assembly. 5. Do not assemble when tired or when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication. 6. Product capabilities apply to properly and completely assembled products only. 7. For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, please refer to the Assembly Diagram of this manual. Unwrap and separate all parts in a clean work area. Please keep small spare parts out of children's reach. 8. Assemble and use this product ONLY in accordance with these instructions and for its intended purpose of bearing removal and bearing housing separation. 9. DO NOT overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. 10. Maintain this product. Check for misalignment, binding, wear, or other damage before use. Extensions Screws(Upper Part) 2 R Storage Case 1 OPERATION Bearing Removal 1. Select the proper bearing separator jaw (D or H) for the bearing being removed. 2. Loosen the separator jaw nuts (C) sufficiently to allow the jaws to catch behind the bearing housing. 5 3. Use your wrench (not included) to evenly tighten the nuts until the jaws are securely set behind the bearing housing. 4. Screw both extension screws (M & L or Q & P) into the bearing separator jaws as shown. Warning! ONLY use extensions screws of matching lengths. 5. Place the 6 inch yoke (F) over the extension screws and tightly secure with washers (O) and nuts (C). 6. Screw the lead screw (B) into the yoke until it touches the center of the shaft where the bearings are mounted. 7. Using your wrench, turn the lead screw clockwise until the bearing housing begins to move off the shaft. 8. Continue turning the lead screw until the bearing housing is off the shaft. 9. Remove the lead screw by turning it counterclockwise. 10. Remove the bearing housing. Bearing Housing Separation 6 1. Select the proper bearing separator jaw (D or H). 2. Loosen the separator jaw nuts sufficiently to allow the jaws to catch between each bearing housing. 3. Using a wrench, begin to tighten the nuts until the jaws are securely set between the bearing housings. 4. Screw in both extension screws (M & L or Q & P) as shown. Warning! ONLY use extensions screws of matching lengths. 5. Continue tightening the nuts until the bearing housings are separated. Warning! Tighten slowly and carefully to avoid over tightening the separator jaw nuts, which could damage the bearings. You can grip the extension screws during this step for extra leverage if needed. 6. When the bearing housings are separated, remove the bearing separator jaw. MAINTENANCE Clean these tools with a clean cloth after each use. Do not use caustic chemicals or harsh abrasives and store in a dry place. Lubricate attachments as needed to ensure smooth operation.
