Connecting Your MagniFi Mini to Your TV
Note: Ensure your TV's internal speakers are turned off when using optical and AUX inputs to avoid audio conflicts.
Using HDMI ARC
Requirement: Your TV must have an HDMI input jack labeled "ARC" (Audio Return Channel).
Use the provided 6.5' HDMI cable to connect the sound bar's HDMI (ARC) port to your TV's HDMI ARC input.
Using Optical Cable
Use the provided 6' Optical cable to connect the sound bar's OPT port to your TV's Optical output.
Using AUX Cable (If HDMI/Optical Not Available)
If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC or optical output, connect the sound bar to the TV using the provided 6' AUX cable.
Important: Only HDMI and Optical inputs support Dolby 5.1 decoding.
Initial Setup
Remote Battery Installation
Insert the provided AAA batteries into the remote control.
Connecting Power
Connect the sound bar power cord to an AC outlet. A pulsing red LED ? on the front of the sound bar indicates it is booting up.
Subwoofer Placement and Power
Position the subwoofer and connect its power cord to an AC outlet. For optimal performance, place the subwoofer on the same wall as the TV.
Wireless Subwoofer Pairing
The MagniFi Mini sound bar and wireless subwoofer are pre-set at the factory to work together. If your wireless subwoofer stops receiving an audio signal, follow these steps to re-establish the connection:
- Turn on your sound bar. On the sound bar, simultaneously press and hold the Bluetooth button ? and the Source button ? for 3 seconds.
- Press and hold the SYNC button on the back of the subwoofer for 3 seconds.
- The green LED on the back of the subwoofer will start flashing rapidly, indicating it is connecting. The LED will turn solid green ✔️ when the connection is established.
Powering On
Turn on your sound bar by pressing the Power button ⚡️ on the sound bar or the remote control.
Sound Modes
The MagniFi Mini offers several sound modes to enhance your listening experience:
- Movie Mode ?: Enhances audio reproduction for TV shows and movies.
- Music Mode ?: Optimized for listening to music, or watching TV/movies with prominent music.
- Sport Mode ⚽: Enhances audio for sporting events, news, and talk shows.
- Night Effect ?: Reduces bass and volume dynamics while improving voice intelligibility for low-volume listening.
Sound Bar Controls
Top Panel Controls
- Power button ⚡️: Turns the sound bar on or off.
- Bluetooth button ?: Activates Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Source button ?: Cycles through the available input sources (HDMI ARC, Optical, AUX, Bluetooth, Google Cast).
- Volume Up button ➕: Increases the master volume.
- Volume Down button ➖: Decreases the master volume.
- Master Night Effect button ?: Toggles the Night Effect mode on or off.
Back Panel Ports
- HDMI (ARC): Connect to your TV's HDMI ARC input.
- AUX: Analog audio input.
- OPT (Optical): Digital optical audio input.
- WIFI LED: Indicates Wi-Fi connection status. A solid LED means connected; a flashing LED means not connected.
- ETHERNET: For a wired network connection.
- Power: Connect the sound bar power cord here.
- USB*: For factory use only.
- Reset: Resets the device to factory settings.
LED Indicators
The MagniFi Mini features a vertical row of LED lights that provide status indications for source, volume, and listening modes.
Source Indicators
- HDMI (TV ARC): Indicates the HDMI ARC input is selected.
- OPT: Indicates the Optical input is selected.
- AUX: Indicates the AUX input is selected.
- Bluetooth ?: Indicates Bluetooth input is selected. A pulsing blue light signifies pairing mode; a solid blue light signifies connection.
- Google Cast: Indicates Google Cast input is selected. A white light appears when streaming.
Mode Indicators
- Night Effect ?: Illuminates when Night Effect mode is active.
- Dolby Content: Illuminates when Dolby Digital content is detected and being decoded.
Controlling with Your TV or Cable/Satellite Remote (IR Learning)
You can program your MagniFi Mini to respond to your existing TV, cable, or satellite remote control for basic functions like Power, Volume Up, Volume Down, and Mute.
Programming Steps
- Enter Learn Mode: Press and hold the Source button ? on the sound bar for 5 seconds. You will hear a tone, and the LEDs on the front of the sound bar will pulse.
- Select Command: Press the button on the MagniFi Mini remote control (or the sound bar itself) for the command you want to program (e.g., Volume Up ➕).
- Train Your Remote: Press and release the corresponding button on YOUR TV/Cable/Satellite remote control repeatedly. A quick press every second is recommended. You will hear a two-note ascending tone when your remote control has successfully learned the command.
- Repeat for Other Commands: While still in learning mode, repeat steps 2 and 3 for each command you wish to program (e.g., Volume Down ➖, Mute, Power ⚡️).
- Save and Exit: Once you are finished programming, press and hold the Source button ? on the sound bar for 5 seconds to save all learned commands. You will hear a tone confirming the save.
Note: A descending tone indicates a failed learning attempt. The sound bar will exit learn mode automatically after 1 minute of inactivity, but any learned commands will be saved.
Optimizing Your Listening Experience
Bass Control
Easily adjust bass volume for more or less impact using the Bass +/- controls on the remote or sound bar.
Voice Adjust
Isolate and adjust the voice channel level to reproduce clear, crisp dialogue. Use the Voice Adjust +/- controls to fine-tune dialogue clarity.
Music Services & Connectivity
Google Cast Setup
To set up Google Cast:
- Power on the sound bar.
- From your phone, tablet, or computer, visit chromecast.com/setup.
- Download the Google Home app. Within the app, navigate to the 'Devices' tab and select 'MagniFi Mini'. Follow the in-app setup instructions.
- A white LED will appear on the sound bar when you are streaming via Google Cast.
To hear your TV again: When finished using Google Cast, press the Source button ? on the sound bar or remote and select the appropriate input (TV ARC, OPT, AUX).
Bluetooth Setup
To connect via Bluetooth:
- Press the Bluetooth button ? on the sound bar. A blue LED will slowly pulse, indicating it is ready to pair.
- On your phone, tablet, or computer, go to your Bluetooth devices settings and select 'Polk MagniFi Mini'. The LED will turn solid blue ✔️ when Bluetooth is connected.
Note: To take control when another device is already connected, press the Bluetooth button ? again.
To hear your TV again: When finished using Bluetooth, press the Source button ? on the sound bar or remote and select the appropriate input (TV ARC, OPT, AUX).

Battery Safety: There is a danger of explosion if a battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine or fire. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children and pets. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Avoid exposure to extreme heat or cold.

1-Year Limited Warranty
Polk Audio, LLC ("Polk") warrants to the original retail purchaser that Polk Audio branded wireless speakers will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year under normal use and conditions. Should this product prove to be defective, Polk will, at its option, repair or replace the product. If the product model is no longer available or cannot be repaired effectively, Polk may replace it with a current model of equal or greater value.

This warranty is non-transferable and does not apply to products that have been modified, misused, have an altered or missing serial number, or were purchased from an unauthorized dealer.
