Recording Functions
CD Dubbing (Album CD Recording)
To record an entire album CD to MD:
1. Press the [CD DUBBING] button. The system will perform a Peak Search to adjust the recording level, after which recording will begin. Peak Search may take up to 90 seconds.
Track Select CD Dubbing
To record only specific tracks you are listening to:
1. While the desired track is playing, press the [CD DUBBING] button.
CD Double Speed Dubbing
To perform CD dubbing in approximately half the time:
1. Press the [CD DUBBING] button twice consecutively. The system will perform a Peak Search to adjust the recording level, after which recording will begin. Note: This function cannot be performed during playback.
Dubbing Favorite Tracks
To dub specific tracks you have memorized:
1. Use the memory playback function to memorize your favorite tracks (refer to the back page for details). 2. Press the [CD DUBBING] button.
Recording FM/AM Broadcast to MD
To record from FM/AM radio broadcasts:
1. While listening to the desired broadcast station, press the [●REC] button to enter recording standby mode. 2. Press the [PLAY/PAUSE] button on the MD unit to start recording.
Synchro Recording from Onkyo Products
To record in sync with connected Onkyo audio equipment:
1. Press the [●REC] button to enter recording standby mode. 2. Play the connected Onkyo product.
Synchro Recording from Other External Devices
To record from other external audio sources:
1. Switch the input source to the device you wish to record from. 2. Press the [●REC] button to enter recording standby mode. 3. Press the [●REC] button again. 4. While 'Signal Rec' is displayed and 'Signal Wait' is flashing, play the external device.
Group Dubbing
To dub tracks into a group:
1. Press the [EDIT/NO/CLEAR] button while the MD is stopped. 2. Rotate the [MULTI JOG] dial to display 'Group Dub?' on the screen. 3. Press the [MULTI JOG] dial to confirm. 4. Proceed with CD dubbing.
Switching Recording Mode (MDLP)
To select different recording quality modes:
Press the [REC MODE] button before recording. The recording mode switches each time the button is pressed:
- SP: Standard stereo recording mode.
- LP2: Recording time is twice that of 'SP'.
- LP4: Recording time is four times that of 'SP'.
- MONO: Monoaural recording mode. Recording time is twice that of 'SP'.
