About this product

The Mi WiFi Range Extender AC1200 is designed to extend the range of your home WiFi network.

The device features two antennas and the following operational indicators and controls:

• 1. Signal Indicator: Displays network connection status and signal strength.
• 2. System Indicator: Shows the operational status of the device's system.
• 3. WPS Button: Used to initiate the Wi-Fi Protected Setup process.
• Reset Button: Restores factory settings when pressed and held.

Indicator Status Details:

Signal Indicator

• Solid blue: Connected to network, strong signal.
• Solid orange: Weak signal; relocate closer to the router.
• Solid red: Disconnected from network; try relocating within router range.
• Flashing red: Ready for initialization.
• Off: Unready for connection.

System Indicator

• Solid blue: System runs normally.
• Flashing blue: WPS is processing.
• Solid orange: System is booting.
• Flashing orange: System is upgrading.
• Off: No power.

Button Functions:

• WPS Button: Press to launch the WPS Wizard.
• Reset Button: Press and hold for at least 5 seconds to restore factory settings.

Installation

Step 1: Power On

Plug the range extender into a power outlet close to your router. Wait until the 'Signal' indicator turns flashing red.

Step 2: Set Up

Method 1: APP Setup (Recommended)

Download the Mi Home APP/Xiaomi Home App and follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.

Method 2: WPS Button Setup

1. Press the WPS button on your router if it has one.
2. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on the range extender. The 'Signal' indicator should turn solid blue once the connection is successful.

Step 3: Reposition your range extender

Place the extender between your router and the WiFi dead zone. For optimal signal quality, aim for a location where the 'Signal' indicator is solid blue. If not achieved, move the extender closer to the router.

Location Guidance:

• Blue: Suitable location.
• Orange/Red: Indicates need to move closer to the router.

Default Extended WiFi Name and Password ❗

• 2.4G WiFi: Router's WiFi name with '_Plus' appended.
• 5G WiFi: Router's WiFi name with '_Plus_5G' appended.
• Password: Same as the router's password.
