Safety Information
This portable air conditioner must not be used in rooms with:
- Potentially explosive atmosphere
- Aggressive atmospheres
- High concentration of solvents
- Extremely high ratio of dust
Important Safety Precautions:
- Keep children away from the unit. It is not intended for use by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities unless supervised.
- Always operate the unit with a grounded plug and a grounded electrical outlet.
- Never operate the unit with a damaged power cord. If damaged, it must be replaced by a cord of the same type and amperage rating.
- Use only grounded extension cords capable of delivering the appropriate voltage.
- Handle the unit with care; do not drop, throw, or crash it.
- Operate the unit on a stable, level surface to prevent it from falling.
- Never operate the unit in pooled or standing water. Do not store or operate outdoors. If electrical components become wet, dry them thoroughly before use.
- Keep air intakes clear. Do not place the unit too close to walls, curtains, or other objects that could restrict airflow, as this may cause overheating.
- Keep electrical components dry. Never allow water inside the unit's electrical components.
Refrigerant Information:
The MeacoCool MC Series uses R290 refrigerant gas, which has a low greenhouse effect (GWP). This refrigerant is flammable.
- The unit contains approximately 140g (7000/7000CH), 180g (8000/8000CH, 9000/9000CH), or 200g (10000/10000CH) of R290 refrigerant.
- Do not use or store the unit in rooms smaller than 4m² to prevent fire or explosion hazards if a leak occurs.
- Avoid rooms with ignition sources like open flames, gas fires, or cigarettes.
- Ensure the room is adequately ventilated if the unit is operated in a non-ventilated area.
- R290 refrigerant gas is odorless.
- Do not puncture the unit during its working life or after disposal. Dispose of according to local recycling regulations.
- If the unit is damaged, do not use it and contact Meaco or your retailer.
- Always keep the unit upright and allow it to stand upright for eight hours before first use.
- Servicing should only be carried out by a Meaco-approved engineer using original Meaco parts.

Portable Air Conditioner Principles
For optimal cooling, use the unit in a well-sealed room with minimal heat gain from sunlight. Close doors, windows, and curtains/blinds before operation to pre-cool the room.
Set Up
The portable air conditioner requires venting to the outside via a window. The provided duct is 1.8 meters long and cannot be extended. A maximum length duct of 2 meters is available for purchase.
These steps are not required for Dry, Fan, or Heat modes.
- Connect duct to machine adaptor: Twist the duct machine adaptor onto the duct.
- Connect duct to window adaptor: Twist the duct window adaptor onto the other end of the duct.
- Attach duct to window kit: Use the duct window adaptor to connect the duct to the window kit. Insert Plate A into Plate B, adjust to window height, and install the duct into section B.
- Secure window kit: Close the window to secure the kit. Seal any gaps for maximum efficiency.
- Attach duct to unit: Connect the duct to the air exhaust on the portable air conditioner using the duct machine adaptor.
- Extend duct: Ensure the duct is extended to the desired length without bends or kinks.
- Adjust louvre: Manually open the front louvre and adjust internal louvres to direct airflow.
- Connect drainage hose (if needed): For Dry or Heat Mode, connect the drainage hose (see page 15).
- Power on: Plug the unit into a mains socket and turn it on using the Power Button.
Control Panel
The control panel features buttons for Power, Mode, Up/Down temperature/timer settings, Timer, and Fan Speed.
- Power Button: Turns the unit on/off. The unit defaults to Fan Mode with a 3-minute compressor delay when turned on.
- Mode Button: Cycles through Cool, Dry, Fan, and Heat (CH models only) modes.
- Up and Down Buttons: Adjust temperature or timer settings.
- Timer Button: Sets an On or Off timer (1-24 hours).
- Fan Speed Button: Selects High or Low fan speed (disabled in Dry and Sleep modes).
Note: The Heat LED only displays on CH models. Sleep Mode is available via the remote control.
The Modes
Cool Mode
- Select 'Cool' mode.
- Set desired temperature (16°C - 32°C) using Up/Down buttons. The unit will run until the temperature is reached and cycle as needed.
- Select fan speed (High/Low).
- Adjust airflow direction horizontally using the inner louvre.
Dry Mode
Select 'Dry' mode. The fan runs continuously. Compressor operation varies based on ambient temperature:
- > 25°C: Compressor runs for 15 mins, stops for 3 mins.
- 20°C - 25°C: Compressor runs for 10 mins, stops for 3 mins.
- 15°C - 20°C: Compressor runs for 6 mins, stops for 3 mins.
- < 15°C: Compressor stops; unit resumes when temperature reaches 17°C.
Fan speed is automatically set to Low. Temperature cannot be selected. Attach the drainage hose for continuous operation.
Fan Mode
- Select 'Fan' mode.
- Select fan speed (High/Low).
- Temperature cannot be selected. The unit circulates air but does not cool.
- Adjust airflow direction horizontally using the inner louvre.
Heat Mode (CH models only)
- Select 'Heat' mode.
- Set desired temperature (16°C - 32°C) using Up/Down buttons.
- Select fan speed (High/Low).
- Adjust airflow direction horizontally using the inner louvre.
- Attach the drainage hose for continuous operation.
Sleep Mode (Remote control only)
Activated in Cool or Heat mode. Runs on Low Fan Speed. In Cool Mode, the temperature increases by 1°C each hour for the first two hours, then remains constant for 10 hours. The display dims.
Other Functions
The Timer
Set an Off Timer (when the unit is on) or an On Timer (when the unit is off) for 1-24 hours using the Timer and Up/Down buttons. Timers are reset when the power is turned off.
Automatic Defrost
Frost may build up at low temperatures. The unit will automatically defrost. The LED above the Power Button will flash. In Cool or Dry mode, if the evaporator coil temperature drops below -1°C, the compressor will stop for 10 minutes or until the coil temperature reaches 7°C. The unit will then restart in Cool Mode. This is a normal process.
Overload Protection
The unit has a memory function. After a power cut, it will resume its previous setting after a three-minute delay to protect the compressor.
Remote Control
The remote control allows operation of all functions, including fan speed, modes (Cool, Dry, Fan, Heat), Sleep Mode, and timer settings. It also allows switching between °C and °F.
Drainage
In Dry and Heat modes, the drainage hose must be attached continuously to remove collected water. In Cool mode, the hose may be needed for high humidity or after prolonged use. The display will show 'Ft' (Full Tank) when the water tank needs draining.
To drain the unit:
- Unplug the unit.
- Slightly raise the unit to drain water via gravity.
- Remove the water outlet plug (do not lose it).
- Securely attach the drainage hose to the outlet.
- Place the hose end over a drain or bucket, ensuring free flow.
- Do not submerge the hose end in water to avoid air locks.
- Once drained, remove the hose and reinsert the plug.
Cleaning and Storage
Clean air filters at least once every two weeks to maintain airflow and efficiency. Do not operate without filters.
- Unplug the unit.
- Remove filters (top and bottom).
- Clean filters using a vacuum cleaner or warm water. Allow to air dry completely before reinstalling.
Before moving or storing, drain any collected water. Use the cable compartment for the mains cable. Store the unit in its bag or original box to protect it from dust.
The unit can also be used as a dehumidifier (above 15°C) and a heater during winter.
