- Gray/Gray with black stripe: Right + / Right -
Note: When connecting a factory or aftermarket stereo to the BassPro 12's speaker-level inputs, set the AUTO TURN ON switch to ON.
Wiring for Audio Signal
Connect the line-level outputs from the aftermarket stereo to the BassPro 12's input jacks. If using speaker-level inputs, splice into the vehicle's left and right speaker wires.
Note: When connecting an aftermarket stereo to the BassPro 12's line-level inputs and remote turn-on wire, set the AUTO TURN ON switch to OFF.
Setting Gain, Adjusting Phase, Low-Pass Filter, and Bass Boost
- Start with the GAIN control at minimum and the crossover control midway.
- Select music with substantial bass and set your receiver's volume to 75% of its total output.
- Turn the GAIN control clockwise, listening for the bass output. Turn counterclockwise if distortion is heard.
- Switch the PHASE between 0° and 180° to determine the setting that provides the most clean bass output.
- Adjust the LOW-PASS control until only low-frequency information is heard from the woofer.
- Adjust the BASS BOOST control to your preference.
Connecting the Remote Bass Control Module
Connect the remote bass control module to the BassPro 12 for on-the-fly bass adjustments.

Troubleshooting
No audio and POWER indicator is off.
Check for voltage at BATT+ and REM terminals, and ensure a proper ground connection. Verify voltages at amplifier terminals with a VOM.
No audio and PROTECT indicator illuminated.
Indicates DC voltage on the amplifier output. The amplifier may require service. Refer to the warranty card.
No audio and PROTECT and POWER indicators illuminated.
Indicates voltage less than 9V on the BATT+ connection. Check the vehicle's charging system.
No audio and PROTECT indicator is on.
The amplifier may be overheated. Ensure the cooling is not blocked. Alternatively, voltage may be greater than 16V or less than 9V on the BATT+ connection. Check the vehicle charging system.
Amplifier fuse keeps blowing.
Check for incorrect wiring or a short circuit. Verify wiring connections.
Distorted audio.
Ensure the GAIN is set properly. Check wires for shorts or grounds. The amplifier or source unit may be defective.
Music lacks dynamics or "punch."
If using speaker-level inputs, check connections for proper polarity. Switch the PHASE between 0° and 180° for the best sound. Check for proper polarity of speaker-level inputs.
Engine noise - whining or clicking - in system when the engine is on.
The amplifier may be picking up alternator noise. First, check the ground connection on the amplifier. Move RCA audio cables away from power wires. Consider installing an alternator noise filter on the power line between the battery and alternator.
Highlights
