How to Use SV305 Camera
Diagram illustrating the connection of the SV305 camera to a telescope. It shows a telescope eyepiece holder, a 1.25-inch adapter, a filter, a C-lens adapter, and the SV305 camera itself.
- Download the astronomy software and driver from the official SVBONY website: https://www.svbony.com/Product/UserManual
- Install the astronomy software and driver on your computer.
- Connect your SV305 camera to the computer. Run the astronomy capture software (e.g., SharpCap) as administrator. Single-click the camera icon, select "SVBONY SV305 Camera", and double-click to view the image or light on the screen.
- Connect the SV305 camera to your telescope. View what the telescope sees on your computer screen. Adjust the telescope focus wheel for the clearest image.
Note on Software Language: While the primary software recommended is SharpCap, it may not have a Japanese version. Users who find English challenging can translate the software's manual using tools like Google Chrome or find Japanese blogs that explain its usage. SVBONY provides the software download link but cannot change its language. Alternatively, users may search for and use other Japanese astronomy capture software.
General Cleaning
The SVBONY SV305 camera features an optical protection window to shield the sensor from dust and humidity. The sensor inside is dry and sealed. Disassembling the camera for cleaning is not recommended, as it may lead to sensor moisture or increased dust ingress.
To clean the protection window:
- Perform cleaning during daylight.
- Connect the SV305 camera to your telescope and point it towards a bright light source. A Barlow lens may be helpful to clearly see dust particles.
- Adjust the exposure time in the software to avoid overexposure. Dust will appear as dark spots in the image.
Dust Identification:
- Small, dark spots on the image (left) are shadows of dust on the sensor. These are best cleaned by editing the image with photography software.
- Larger spots on the image (right) are shadows of dust on the protection window. These can typically be removed by blowing them away with a manual air pump.
Structure
Diagram 1 shows the external structure of the SV305 camera, featuring a 1.25-inch barrel with M25.4x0.8 threading for telescope connection, and a C-mount thread on the opposite end for accessories.
Diagram 2 depicts an internal or detailed view of the SV305 camera, illustrating the sensor housing, electronic components, and connection interfaces.
