Introduction
The medTAB system is a complete, personal patient television system designed to provide an intuitive touchscreen experience. It features built-in TV, games, and relaxation applications, with no internet connection, subscription fees, or ADT integration required by default. When connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, patients can access a web browser and links to news, social media, and other online content. PDi can also create customized user interfaces with specific applications like patient education, movies, surveys, or facility services.

Installation
Installation Precautions:
- For models powered over coax, use only a PDi-approved power source suitable for healthcare facilities. The coaxial cable supplies both low voltage AC/DC power and RF signal.
- For PoE (Power over Ethernet) models, use UL-listed power sourcing equipment (60W per port, 802.3bt type 3). PDi recommends the Microchip Microsemi PD-9506G/ACDC/M. The Ethernet cable supplies power and data. Ensure power is not applied to the coaxial cable.
Coax Cable Specifications: For hospital installations with long runs, use coax cable with a solid copper center conductor and copper shield. Cable run lengths must not exceed 150 feet. Recommended cables include Alpha M4182, Belden 9248, West Penn 806, or West Penn 25806 (plenum/non-plenum versions tested with coax-powered TVs).
Category Cable Specifications: PoE models are IEEE 802.3bt compatible. For PoE power insertion, CAT5e cables can run up to 328 feet.
Arm Mounting: This television is designed to attach to a PDi suspension arm.
- Arm Recoil Hazard: The safety brake pin must remain in the SAFETY BRAKE PIN HOLE when the television or arm is removed to prevent injury from the arm springing open. Contact PDi for arm compatibility and cable requirements.
