1. GETTING STARTED

Main features · Bluetooth V 4.1 · 1:1 intercom maximum range up to 400 meters (Refer to FAQ) · Universal Intercom · FM radio · 5 Languages Voice Prompt (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish) · Water Resistance · Dual pairing with two Bluetooth devices (Mobile-phone, MP3, Navigation)
Package contents · Main unit with a pre-installed battery · USB charging cable · Microphones for both open-face and full-face helmets. · Speaker, Velcro for speakers, Velcro for microphones, foam microphone-covers · Helmet mounting bracket, cradle, 2 screws and L-wrench · User manual
Battery Charging Connect the supplied USB cable into a PC or wall charger.
Be sure to charge the product using the charging cable provided. Charge with a normal charger of 5V or less than 1.2A. Using a high-speed charger for mobile-phones or a supplementary battery with high-speed charging (9V, higher than 1.2A) may inflate the battery, cause explosion, or damage internal circuits.
With normal charger, it takes 2.5~3 hours to fully charge. Charging time depends on the temperature. The red LED flashes while in charging and the blue LED lights and stay showing the charging is done. If the charging is finished disconnect the charging cable. Over charging may cause battery inflation. You can charge BiT-3 with a power bank while you are using it. In this case, red LED and purple LED (red and blue LED at the same time) flashes alternately. When the charging is finished, blue LED flashes.
5

Battery Always keep your battery charged enough. Every battery discharge by itself naturally. If the battery was discharged and not charged for a long time, the voltage drops under 2.0V, the battery cannot be charged again. In this case, you need to replace the battery if battery replacement is applicable. However, this replacement cannot be covered by the warranty. Lithium Polymer battery has a protection circuit (PCM) inside. A battery with the voltage dropped under 2.0V needs high voltage with high current to recharge it. Protection circuit blocks this high current, so the battery cannot be charged. Do not disassemble the product or disconnect the battery. It may cause product failure. Battery capacity may be reduced depending on environmental factors and usage. Life cycle of Lithium Ion, Lithium Polymer battery, manufacturer guarantees only 300 times of full charges and discharges. Use or store the product at -15°C and +50°C. Higher or lower temperatures may cause reduced battery capacity, battery life, or temporary inactivity. Long exposure of the product to direct sunlight may cause circuit failure or battery failure. Do not use product damaged by impact, circuit or battery failure may occur.
2. INSTALLATION
Speaker and microphone installation Two microphones for both open-face helmet and full-face helmet are provided. Please choose the one that you intend to use for the type of your helmet. Remove the inner pad of the helmet where you want to locate the speakers and
microphone. Make sure to clean inside of your helmet with alcohol and fully dry the spot where
you want to put the Velcro for the speakers and microphone.
6

For open-face helmet, attach soft Velcro disk inside of the helmet at chic level and place the boom-microphone on it. Additionally, fix the boom-stick by using the butterfly shaped holder to support it.
For full-face helmet, attach soft Velcro disk on the chin bar of the helmet and attach hard Velcro disk to the microphones.
Mount the soft Velcro disks on the liner of your helmet, in the indentation of the helmet padding, where your ears would line up. For the best sound quality, be sure to locate the speakers to the right location.
Attach the right speaker (with the longer wire) to the corresponding Velcro disk that you applied on the helmet liner. Attach the left speaker (with the shorter wire) to the other Velcro disk.
Re-install removed inner pad back on the helmet.
CAUTION : Changing the position of the Velcro stickers for speakers and microphones more than one time may result in poor adhesion. (You can purchase Velcro separately from our website.)

17. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q : When I use Intercom, I frequently experience noise and disconnections. A : Bluetooth Intercom uses 2.4GHz ISM band. This ISM band is being used for many
applications, such as Wi-Fi, wireless CCTV, garage door remote control, traffic control signal etc. Therefore, in the city area, there are many ISM band frequencies being used and these cause interferences. If the other ISM band equipment is closer than your intercom partner, there would be noise and disconnections. High voltage power line can also cause the same phenomenon. This phenomenon is inevitable with Bluetooth products.
Q : When I use Intercom, I feel more noise and disconnection toward a certain direction. A : Bluetooth ISM band is also a part of radio frequency. Radio frequency has very
similar character to the light. Radio frequency cannot go through water, soil, rock, metal plate and human body. The human body consists of 70% water. Therefore, Bluetooth communication cannot be connected well through body. This phenomenon can happen when you have your mobile-phone in your back pocket.
Q : Battery life became shorter. A : Life cycle of Lithium Ion, Lithium Polymer battery, manufacturer guarantees only
300 times of full charges and discharges. 300 times of life cycle means, if you use the full capacity of the battery every day, you can use it only for about one year. If you use half of the battery capacity every day, you can use it for about two years. If your battery capacity went down too low and you cannot use it for enough time in your normal usage, please contact our service center to have a battery replacement service.
Q : I cannot use intercom with a range of 400m as described in the specification. A : As described in the answer above, the 2.4GHz ISM band frequency gets much inter-
ference by other ISM band applications in the city area. Interference cause noise, disconnection and shortened range. This is inevitable since the 2.4GHz ISM band is free of charge and has no obligation of registration. That is why ISM bands are so popular.
19

However, at the seaside, without any other ISM band interference and no obstacles between two riders, you can have even better range than 400 meters. Q : I cannot turn on nor charge the product. A : I cannot turn on nor charge the product. A: If you left the product for a long time after your last use and the battery discharges under 2.0V, you cannot charge the product again. You need to replace the battery at the service center. Also, if you tried to charge the product with fast charger (9V, over 1.2A), the battery or circuit might burn out. In these two cases service cannot be covered by the warranty. Many other FAQ are well described at our homepage. Please visit our website and read carefully. For more detailed FAQ information, please access our website. (www.chatterboxglobal.com)
