Speaker Placement Guide
Recommended Speaker Placement:
- Position the subwoofer in front of the listening area.
- Place the Soundbar centered in front of the TV.
- Surround speakers should be placed to the sides and slightly behind the listening position, angled towards the listener.
Attention: Wireless antennas are integrated into the subwoofer and surround speakers. Do not expose to rain or moisture. Avoid obstacles around the subwoofer and surround speakers for optimal sound quality. Surround speakers may not be included depending on the model.
05 Connecting to a TV
Connecting to a TV with HDMI ARC
Attention: If both HDMI and optical cables are connected, the HDMI signal takes priority. Ensure you connect the HDMI cable to the eARC or ARC port. Using an incorrect port may result in no sound. Use HDMI-certified cables.
Note: Using an HDMI cable allows digital audio and video transmission without a separate optical cable. Use a coreless HDMI cable if possible. If using a cored HDMI cable, ensure its diameter is less than 14 mm. This function may not work if the HDMI cable does not support ARC. If the TV audio is Dolby Digital and the TV's digital audio output is set to PCM, adjust the setting to Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, or Auto for better sound quality. ARC/eARC protocols support Dolby Atmos®. Verify if your content supports Dolby Atmos®.
- Turn off the TV and Soundbar. Connect the HDMI cable from the TV's HDMI IN (eARC/ARC) port to the Soundbar's HDMI TO TV (eARC/ARC) port.
- Turn on the Soundbar and TV.
- TV audio will play through the Soundbar. If there is no sound, press the Source button on the Soundbar or remote to switch to the appropriate connected mode.
- For eARC connection, ensure eARC is enabled in the TV's settings. Refer to your TV's user manual for configuration details.
- Use the TV remote's volume buttons to adjust the Soundbar volume.
Connecting via Optical Cable
- If both HDMI and optical cables are connected, the HDMI signal takes priority.
- Ensure you remove the protective cover from the optical cable before use.
- Connect the DIGITAL AUDIO IN (OPTICAL) port on the Soundbar to the OPTICAL OUT port on your external device using an optical cable (sold separately).
- Turn on the Soundbar and external device.
- Press the Source button on the remote to switch to D.IN mode.
- The TV audio will play through the Soundbar.
Connecting via Bluetooth
Bluetooth connection allows you to enjoy stereo sound from your Samsung TV without cables. Only one Samsung TV can be connected via Bluetooth at a time. You can connect to a Samsung TV compatible with Bluetooth. Check your TV's specifications.
First-time Bluetooth Connection

- On your Samsung TV, go to Bluetooth settings and select 'Q-Series Soundbar'.
- You can now enjoy TV audio through the Soundbar. The Soundbar will automatically turn on if you try to connect a previously paired device while it is off.

- Repeat steps 1-3.
Disconnecting the Soundbar and Samsung TV
Press the Source button and select a mode other than BT. Disconnection may take a few seconds.
BT READY vs. BT PAIRING

- BT PAIRING: Connects a new device. Press the PAIR button or hold the Source button for 3 seconds.
Precautions for Bluetooth Connection
- Keep the device within 1 meter of the Soundbar.
- If a PIN code is requested, enter <0000>.
- The Soundbar turns off automatically after 18 minutes of inactivity in standby mode.
- Bluetooth connection may be difficult if there are interfering electronic devices nearby, multiple Bluetooth devices are paired simultaneously, or the Bluetooth device is off, out of range, or malfunctioning.
- Keep devices that generate radio waves (microwaves, Wi-Fi routers, etc.) away from the Soundbar.
- The Soundbar supports SBC (44.1 kHz, 48 kHz) and A2DP (AV) profiles.
- Keep devices close for better audio quality. Bluetooth connection may be lost if devices are out of range.
- Avoid areas with weak signal reception.
- Body contact with the Bluetooth transmitter/receiver or placing the Soundbar on metal furniture can cause noise or malfunction.
- Obstacles like doors and walls can degrade audio quality.
- The Soundbar cannot be paired with other Bluetooth devices during Bluetooth audio streaming.
- This wireless device may cause electrical interference.
Disconnecting a Connected Bluetooth Device
Connection with the Soundbar is interrupted. The LED blinks red three times if the Soundbar is disconnected.
