Fire or Explosion Hazard: Flammable Refrigerant

This appliance contains R600A (isobutane), a combustible refrigerant. Handle with care to avoid damage to refrigerant tubing. Service must be performed by authorized personnel using manufacturer-authorized parts.

Dispose of the appliance according to Federal and Local Regulations. Contact local authorities for environmentally safe disposal procedures. Do not use electrical devices to defrost.

Unpack and Install Your Ice Maker

  1. Carefully remove packing material; avoid sharp tools.
  2. Verify the ice bin and ice scoop are included. Contact customer service if any part is missing.
  3. Clean the interior with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Wash the ice bin separately with warm water.
  4. Locate the ice maker in a place protected from direct sunlight, with at least six inches (6'') clearance on sides and back for ventilation.
  5. For first use, cleaning with an ice machine cleaner, citric acid, or vinegar is suggested.

What's in the Box

  • Ice Scoop and Bin: Used for serving and storing ice.
  • Viewing Window: Allows monitoring of ice production without opening the lid, preventing warm air entry.
  • Air Vents: Located on the back and sides to prevent overheating. Ensure at least six inches (6'') of space around the unit for proper ventilation.
  • Water Drain Tube: Facilitates easy emptying of the water reservoir.

Understanding the Control Panel and Indicators

  • Standby Mode: Upon plugging into a 110-120V/60Hz outlet, all indicators light up for 3 seconds. The "ON/OFF" indicator turns RED, indicating standby.
  • Turn ON/OFF: Tap the "ON/OFF" button to turn the unit on (indicator blue) or off (indicator red). When turned off, the compressor, pump, fan, and motor stop sequentially.
  • Ice Full: The "Ice Full" indicator turns RED if the infrared probe is blocked for over 5 minutes, signaling the ice bin is full. It turns off, and production resumes when the path is clear for 30 seconds.
  • Add Water: When the "Add Water" indicator lights up, the ice maker stops. Refill the reservoir below the ice bin, then tap the power button twice to restart.
  • Clean (Self-Cleaning): In standby mode, tap the "CLEAN" button once to start a 5-minute self-cleaning cycle (indicator blue). Tap again to stop.

Connecting to an AC Outlet

  • This appliance must be properly grounded for safety.
  • Plug directly into an appropriate, properly installed, and grounded 120V AC outlet.
  • Do not use if the power cord is damaged; contact customer service.

Making Ice

How to Get Started

  1. Open the top cover and remove the ice bin.
  2. Fill the reservoir with purified or distilled water up to the MAX fill line. (Using purified/distilled water prevents scaling; regular cleaning is advised for tap water.)
  3. Replace the ice bin and close the lid.
  4. Plug in the ice maker.
  5. Tap the ON/OFF button to start. The unit performs a brief self-cleaning cycle (2-3 minutes) before making ice.

On Ice Producing

  • Monitor the "Add Water" indicator. If low, the ice maker stops automatically. Refill water (not past MAX line), tap power to standby, then tap again to resume.
  • The ice maker stops automatically when the "Ice Full" indicator lights up. It will resume production after 30 seconds of clear ice outlet detection.
  • Replace reservoir water every 24 hours for hygiene. Drain and refill if not used for several days.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Turn On The Self-cleaning Function

  1. Plug in the ice maker and ensure it's in standby mode (ON/OFF red).
  2. Add ice machine cleaning water to the reservoir and close the lid.
  3. Tap the "CLEAN" button to activate the self-cleaning function (CLEAN indicator blue).
  4. The cycle lasts 5 minutes. Tap "CLEAN" again to stop manually.

Drain Water

  1. Unhook the top of the drain tube from the back of the ice maker.
  2. Lay the tube down to drain into a sink or bucket below the ice maker's level.
  3. Remove the drain plug and allow water to drain completely.
  4. Re-insert the drain plug once draining is complete.
  5. Drain the ice maker when relocating it or if it will be unused for more than a few days.

Clean The Interior And Exterior

  • Unplug the ice maker.
  • Remove the ice bin.
  • Clean the interior and exterior housing with a soft cloth dampened with ice machine cleaner and warm water.
  • Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
  • Do not use soap on the reservoir; use a soft cloth with ice machine cleaning water.
  • Do not use solvents or chemicals.

Clean The Ice Bin And Reservoir

  • Remove the ice bin and clean with a soft cloth dampened with ice machine cleaner and warm water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Wipe the water reservoir dry to prevent deposits.
  • Do not use solvents or chemicals.

Maintaining

  • Run the self-cleaning function before each use or at least once per week to keep ice fresh and remove scale buildup.
  • Clean interior and exterior housing frequently to remove debris or dust.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Problem Possible Reasons Solutions
Internal squeaking noise when working. Nugget ice inside the evaporator not squeezed out from previous production. Will disappear after two self-cleaning processes or 1 hour of inactivity. Contact customer service if noise persists.
"Add Water" indicator is on. Water level is low. Turn off, add water to the reservoir, then turn on the ice maker.
"Ice Full" indicator is on. The sensor is blocked by ice. If ice is full, the maker stops after a 5-minute prompt. If not full, it resumes when the blockage clears.
The ice sensor is broken. Restart the ice maker. If production is not working, contact customer service.
The ice scoop blocks the sensor. Check and rearrange the ice scoop if it is blocking the sensor.
Nugget ice stuck together. The ice making cycle is too long. Shut off and restart the ice maker when current ice cubes drop.
Water temperature in the reservoir is too high. Use colder purified or distilled water.
The ice is full, but the indicator is off. The location is too close to a light source affecting infrared detection. Move the ice maker away from the light source or to a darker location.
The ice making cycle is normal, but there is no ice. The ambient temperature or water temperature is too high. Keep the ice maker away from heat sources (above 90°F / 32°C) and use cold water.
Refrigerant liquid leakage. Contact customer service.
The pipe in the cooling system is blocked. Contact customer service.

Normal Operating Sounds

Your ice maker may produce sounds that are normal:

  • Clicking sound: Heard when turning on/off, or if ice remains from previous production.
  • Bubbling, gurgling, or tapping sound: Caused by the refrigerant circulating through the pipes.
  • Clanking sound: Occurs as ice drops into the bin. The first nuggets are loudest; noise reduces as the bin fills.
