Warnings and Cautions
- To avoid fire, shock, or death; turn off power at circuit breaker or fuse and test that the power is off before wiring!
- To be installed and/or used in accordance with appropriate electrical codes and regulations.
- Use the device with copper or copper clad wire only.
Installation
1A. Side Wire
Remove insulation approx. 3/4" (1.91cm). Connect wires per diagram as follows: Loop wires clockwise 3/4 turn around terminal screws. Firmly tighten screws to 14 in.lbs over looped wire.
1B. Back Wire
Remove insulation per strip gauge on device approx. 5/8" (1.59cm). Insert wires into holes next to appropriate terminal screws.
Note: Press in slot to release wire!
2. Mounting
Mount switch using long mounting screws. Mount wallplate.
3. Power Restoration
Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. Installation is complete.
Notes on Wire Gauge:
- Side Wire: Use copper #14 AWG to copper #12 AWG.
- Back Wire: Use copper #14 AWG ONLY.
Wiring Diagram
The wiring diagram illustrates a single-pole switch connection. It shows:
- A line labeled "Hot/Line" connecting to one terminal.
- A line labeled "Neutral" connecting to another terminal, with a circle labeled "LOAD" on this line.
- A ground connection labeled "Ground (Green Screw)" connecting to the ground terminal.
Additionally, a diagram of the switch itself is shown, indicating:
- The front view with a rocker and model number "LD-2001".
- The rear view with terminals labeled "TOP", "Brass Screw", and "Black Screw".
- Back wire terminals are marked with "PRESS DOWN IN SLOTS TO RELEASE WIRE" and "FOR CU WIRE ONLY #14 SOLID WIRE FOR PUSH IN".
- A "Green Screw" for ground connection is visible.
- A "STRIP GAGE" marking is present on the device.
Warranty
BESTTEN warrants to the original customer that this product is free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the purchase date. Within this period, simply contact BESTTEN CARE with proof of purchase and reason of claim. BESTTEN will replace the product for free. Any product which is subject to misuse or accidental damage is excluded from this warranty.
