Functions

Ear Temperature

This thermometer is designed for daily use. Its use does not replace a medical examination. Always compare measurement results with your normal body temperature.

Forehead Temperature

This thermometer is designed for daily use. Its use does not replace a medical examination. Always compare measurement results with your normal body temperature. Consult a doctor if you have concerns about your health.

Ambient Temperature

The correct ambient temperature is crucial for the health of a newborn or patient. The thermometer helps to recognize the ambient temperature.

Surface Mode

Surface mode displays the current surface temperature, which differs from body temperature. It can help verify if an object's temperature is suitable for a newborn or patient (e.g., milk to be given to a newborn).

Fever Indication

If the thermometer detects a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F), a long beep will sound, followed by three short beeps, to alert the user of a potential fever.

Last Reading

When a new temperature reading is taken in ear or forehead mode, the last reading will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, accompanied by the last reading icon.

Memory Location

Up to 25 ear measurements can be stored in memory. Once the device is on, press the "ON/MEM" button to view stored temperatures, indicated by the memory icon.

Switching °C / °F

In "Off" mode, press and hold the “SCAN” button, then press the “ON/MEM” button for 3 seconds. The temperature unit icon will change from “°C” to “°F”. Use the same process to switch from °F to °C.

Silent Mode

By default, the audible signal is active. You can activate/deactivate the audible signal in silent mode. With the device on, press and hold the “ON/MEM” button for 3 seconds. The silent icon (?) will flash on the display. Release the “ON/MEM” button to activate silent mode. No beep will be heard from this point on. Use the same process to deactivate silent mode.

NOTE: If the silent icon appears and you continue to press the “ON/MEM” button for 5 seconds, the device will turn off WITHOUT setting silent mode.

Automatic Power-Off

If not used for more than 1 minute, the device will automatically turn off (stand-by). The device also turns off automatically after use.

Battery Installation/Replacement

  1. Open the battery cover: Ensure the thermometer is in "forehead mode". Insert a coin into the rotating cover on the back of the device and turn it clockwise. The battery is located under the cover.
  2. Hold the device and remove the battery with a small screwdriver.
  3. Insert the new battery under the metal hook on the left side and press the right side of the battery until it clicks.
  4. Replace the battery cover.

  • Diagrams show the CR2032 battery with '+' and '-' terminals.
  • ⚠️ ATTENTION
  • Keep the battery away from children. (This device uses a CR2032 lithium battery.)
  • Keep the positive (+) side facing up and the negative (-) side facing down.
  • Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

Measurement

  1. Always ensure the probe is clean and undamaged.
  2. Power On: Press the “ON/MEM” button.
  3. Mode Selection:
    • Ear Mode: ? Press the “ON/MEM” button. The thermometer defaults to ear mode. It is ready for use after the ear icon is displayed and two beeps are heard. In this mode, you can measure body temperature via the ear.
    • Forehead Mode: ? Once the device is on, press and hold the “ON/MEM” button and press the “SCAN” button once to switch to forehead mode. The forehead icon will be displayed, and two beeps will sound. In this mode, you can measure body temperature via the forehead.
    • Surface Mode: ?️ Once the device is on, press and hold the “ON/MEM” button and press the “SCAN” button once to switch to surface mode. The surface icon will be displayed. In this mode, you can measure the surface temperature of an object.
  4. Temperature Measurement:

    Ear Temperature Measurement. Pay attention:

    1. Gently pull the ear backward to straighten the ear canal and comfortably position the probe inside the ear canal, aiming towards the eardrum for an accurate reading.
    2. Press and hold the “SCAN” button until a beep is heard. Remove the ear probe and read the temperature measurement on the LCD display.

Diagram illustrating ear measurement: Shows pulling the ear back (Tirare) and scanning (Scansionare).

    Forehead Temperature Measurement. Pay attention:

    1. The temporal artery, a large artery leading to the skull, is connected to the heart via the carotid artery. This thermometer is designed to measure the skin surface temperature around the temporal artery.
    2. Position the thermometer on the temple (see image). You can choose either the left or right temple.
    3. Press the “SCAN” button and gently scan the temple area. During scanning, the device emits a scanning sound, indicating measurement is in progress. Measurement is complete when the forehead icon stops flashing after a short beep. Measurement may take 5-8 seconds up to 30 seconds, depending on how long it takes the device to detect the correct forehead temperature.

Diagram showing the forehead measurement area.

    Surface Temperature Measurement:

    1. When the “SCAN” button is pressed, the real-time temperature is immediately obtained. If you hold down the “SCAN” button, the measurement will be continuously updated.
    2. This mode can be used to measure the temperature of water, milk, clothing, skin, or other objects.

NOTE: This mode displays actual, unadjusted surface temperatures, which differ from body temperature.

  5. After Measurement:
    • (1) Power Off: If not used for more than 1 minute, the device will automatically turn off (stand-by). The device also turns off automatically.
    • (2) Cleaning: Clean the probe after each use to obtain accurate readings and prevent indirect contamination. (For more details, see the "Care and Maintenance" section.)
    • (3) Display: The device always indicates the ambient temperature in stand-by mode, and it is not possible to turn off all display visualizations on the LCD.

NOTE: This thermometer is designed for daily use. Its use does not replace a medical examination. Always compare measurement results with your normal body temperature. Consult a doctor if you have concerns about your health.

If the thermometer is held too long, the probe may read a higher ambient temperature, consequently resulting in a lower body temperature measurement than usual.

  • Allow the probe to dry completely for several minutes. Then, replace the cap.
  • Store this device at temperatures between -20°C and +50°C (-4°F and 122°F) and in an environment with a maximum humidity (RH) of 85%.
  • Keep this device dry and away from any liquids and direct sunlight.
  • Do not immerse the probe in any liquid.

NOTE

  • The probe is the most delicate part of the thermometer. Handle it with care when cleaning the lens to avoid damage.
  • Check the device for damage in case of a fall. If you are unsure how to check it, take the complete device to your nearest retailer for possible recalibration.
  • If the thermometer is held too long, the probe may read a higher ambient temperature, consequently resulting in a lower body temperature measurement than usual.
