Visual Description: The product packaging displays the Baby Alive doll with her accessories, including a bottle, bowl, spoon, bib, and diapers. The doll is shown in a feeding pose. The age recommendation is 3+.

Getting Started and Play Modes

  1. Ensure the doll's ON/OFF/TRY ME switch, located on her back, is set to "ON".
  2. Bracelet Interaction

Press the button on the doll's bracelet to "wake her up".

To change the doll's play mode (eat, play, change, play, sleep), press the bracelet button. If the doll is inactive for approximately 30 seconds, she will automatically turn off. Press the button again to reactivate her.

To play with the Baby Alive doll without her speaking, press and hold the bracelet button for 5-6 seconds. The doll will say "bye-bye", but her eyes will remain open. Press the button again to "wake up" the doll.

    Battery Conservation Note

To conserve battery life, turn the ON/OFF/TRY ME switch to "OFF" when the doll is not being played with for extended periods.

Mealtime Instructions

  1. Before feeding the doll, put on her bib and ensure she is wearing a securely fastened diaper.
  2. Stain Warning

Doll food may stain some surfaces. Clean spills promptly. For best results, feed the doll in an easily cleanable area, away from carpeting or upholstery.

  3. To feed the doll, open a packet of Baby Alive doll food and pour it into the bowl. Add 15ml of water and stir well; the food will thicken as it is stirred. Measure water by filling to the fill line on the food bowl, bottle cap, or bottle itself. Feed the doll immediately after mixing the food. If the doll falls asleep while preparing food, press the bracelet button to wake her, or begin feeding her to wake her up.
  4. Feed the doll using the included spoon. When the spoon is placed in her mouth, the doll will "chew" her food.
  5. Feeding Tip

Food moves through the doll more quickly when she is leaning back slightly in a sitting position, as illustrated in the product visuals.

  6. After every few spoonfuls of food, give the doll a drink from her bottle. Fill the bottle with water and press it into the doll's mouth. Squeeze the bottle gently, giving her a few sips at a time. If the bottle remains in her mouth for longer than 30 seconds, she will become drowsy and fall asleep.
  7. Important Mealtime Guidelines

    • Use only Baby Alive doll food and doll juice mixes (sold separately); never feed the doll "real" food.
    • Always give the doll a bottle of water after she eats, or food may stick inside. Use only clean tap water; do not use any other liquids.
    • Do not feed the doll more than one packet of food and one bottle of water between diaper changes.
    • If doll food becomes too thick, add a spoonful of water and stir well.
    • Doll food cannot be stored; use immediately after mixing.
    • Only the included spoon and bottle will work with your Baby Alive doll. Replacement spoons, sippy cups, and diaper refills are available in Baby Alive Accessory Packs (sold separately).
    • Do not place any foreign objects in the doll's mouth or any other opening.

Diaper Changing and Naptime

  1. Diaper Time

After feeding the doll, clean her with a soft, damp cloth or paper towel, then put on a new diaper. Always change the doll's diaper and clean her after she eats; never let her sit with a full diaper. Diapers cannot be washed or reused.

  2. Naptime

Baby Alive will yawn and indicate when she is sleepy. You can hold her or put her down for a nap. To wake her, press the button on her bracelet.

  3. If Your Baby Alive Doll is Fussy

If the Baby Alive doll cries, fusses, or says she's thirsty, give her the bottle (even without water inside), or press the button on her bracelet, and she will feel better.

Important Cleaning Instructions

To prevent clogging, rinse the doll clean immediately after each use. If food is left inside the doll, it can harden and become difficult to clean.

  1. To clean the doll after feeding, give her several bottles of water until remaining food is rinsed away and water runs clear. It is best to do this over a sink. Tilt the bottle from side to side to ensure food in the corners of the doll's mouth is rinsed away. Use a soft cloth or paper towel to wipe away any remaining food. Allow the doll to dry.
  2. Clean the doll's face and body by wiping gently with a soft, damp cloth. Do not rub.
  3. Do not submerge the doll in water; it is not intended for bath-time play.
  4. Do not wash the doll's hair. If any doll food gets into her hair, wipe it away with a soft, damp cloth.
  5. The doll's clothes are machine-washable (mild detergent, cold water, gentle cycle) or can be spot-cleaned with a cool damp cloth; hang to dry. Clean the bib with a soft, damp cloth; hang to dry.
  6. Hand-wash the spoon and bottle with mild dish soap and water; they are not dishwasher-safe.

Troubleshooting

If the doll is unresponsive, speaks slowly, or makes unusual facial expressions, replace the batteries.

Battery Replacement

The doll requires 4 x 1.5V (6V) LR6 batteries, which are included.

Note: Baby Alive is packaged in "TRY ME" mode. To activate its full range of features, move its ON/OFF/TRY ME switch to the "ON" position.

To play with your Baby Alive doll with her eyes open, but without her speaking, slide the ON/OFF/TRY ME switch to the "OFF" position when the doll's eyes are open.

Visual Description: A diagram on the doll's back shows the battery compartment, which requires a screwdriver to open. The ON/OFF/TRY ME switch is located near the battery compartment.
