Ensure power is disconnected from mains power during Pump Installation and Removal. Do not install or operate the water pump in an explosive environment or near flammable material. Do not operate the water pump without liquid. Do not run the water pump dry. 1 WARNING The water pump together with associated pipework operate under pressure. Do not disconnect water pump or pipework until internal pressure has been released. Failure to do this could result in personal injury and damage to property. Avoid inserting hands into the inlets/outlets of the water pump while it is connected to power. Before using the water pump, always inspect it visually. Do not use the pump if it is cracked and/or damaged. The water pump has a built-in thermal protection overload switch. The water pump stops if an overload occurs. The motor restarts automatically after it has cooled down. The pump must not be used when people are in the water. Never work or perform maintenance on the pump without first making sure it has been disconnected from the mains power. Pollution of the liquid could occur due to leakage of lubricants. Important: Avoid inserting hands into the mouth of the pump if it is connected to the mains. The electrical connection must always be made in a dry area. Make sure that electrical connections are protected from inundations. Protect the plug and the power cable from heat, oil or sharp edges. MAINTENANCE WARNING Make sure the pump is disconnected from electric power supply before performing maintenance procedures. CLEANING THE PUMP HOUSING Use a damp cloth to wipe down the pump housing. Allow to dry thoroughly before storing in a dry location that is protected from bad weather conditions. INTENDED USE RYOBI Submersible dirty water pumps are highly efficient electrical pumps for discharging clear or dirty water containing solids up to the maximum size specified in the technical details. This pump is intended for discharging clear or dirty water containing solids up to the maximum size 35mm. Typical applications for waste water submersible pumps are: Emptying ponds, tanks, storage tanks, and waste water pits, emergency drainage in the event of flood etc. This product is intended for household use only, not for extended continuous operation. WARNING The pump is not suited to discharge salt water, sewage, flammable, caustic or hazardous liquids. Please observe the max. temperature of the liquids to be discharged stated in the technical data. A distinctive feature of this pump is that it can briefly operated (max. 4 min.) with liquids with a temperature up to 35°C (see Technical data). WARNING Inside the pump, lubricants are used which may contaminate the liquids being discharged in case of any improper operation or damage of the device. The lubricants used are biologically degradable and nonhazardous to health. SYMBOLS DEFINITION ON THE PRODUCT 2 KNOW YOUR PRODUCT RACSUP12/RSCD750 Components List 1. Water outlet 2. Pump base 3. The pump and the water connection system have to be protected from frost. INSTALLATION OF WATER DISCHARGE HOSE The purpose of the discharge hose is to safely transfer excess water to your desired location e.g. from your pool, pond or flooding. To avoid flow loss make sure that the discharge hose is the same diameter as the pump water outlet. The universal adaptor is designed to fit various sizes of pipes and hoses. Cut the universal adaptor to fit a 25mm hose or a 35mm hose as the images. 4 2 SET UP PUMP 1. Screw the right angle adaptor to the water outlet. (Thread seal tape is required) 2. Connect water discharge to the adaptor and secure with a hose clamp or a garden hose connector. 1 2 POSITION THE PUMP 3 PUSH 100mm minimum Please make sure that the max. immersion depth is not exceeded when positioning the pump. Please ensure when lowering the pump, the water level exceeds the suction port (3). When positioning the pump please ensure that is suspended correctly from the handle or resting on a solid surface. To position, lift up or carry the pump, please use only the carrying handle (7). If lowering is required, please use a suitable lowering rope attached to the carrying handle. Do NOT lift pump using the hose, power cord or float cable. 5 SET FLOAT SWITCH 4 START A 30° 54mm 30° STOP B C 1 PUSH 100mm minimum 2 The pump is fitted with a float switch which allows the pump to turn on and off automatically or manually 1. Pump will automatically switch on when the float is approximately 30°C higher than the top of the pump and switch off when the switch is approximately 30°C lower than the top of the pump. 2. To adjust the automatic on/off range insert the float switch cable into the on board cable holder (Ensure there is a minimum of 100mm from the float switch). 6 SWITCH BETWEEN CLEAN AND DIRTY WATER APPLICATION 5 1. When you want to switch between CLEAN and DIRTY applications, locate the arrows on the pump's base. 1 2. Pull out the transfer valve out of the base. 2 3. Spin 180° until the arrow of CLEAN or DIRTY lines up with the arrow on the base of the pump. 3 4. Press down the transfer valve to lock the pump base. 4 7 PUMP OPERATION 6 1. Put the pump into water. For deep water, use a rope (not included) and secure it to the handle. 2. To begin operation, insert the mains plug into the socket. If the water is deep enough to raise the float to 30° or greater, the pump will start run immediately. To stop operation of the pump, turn off the main supply and remove the plug from socket. WARNING No part(s) of the human body is to be in contact with water when pump is operating. Dry-running - i.e. operating the pump without 1 discharging water is to be avoided since the absence of water may cause the pump to run hot. This may cause considerable damage to the pump. Do not reach in to the suction port of the pump when it is connected. Please inspect the pump visually prior to each use. The electrical RYOBI pumps are equipped with an integrated thermal motor protection feature. In the case of overload, the motor will switch off independently and on again after cooling down. For possible causes and their elimination, please refer to the "Maintenance and trouble- shooting" section. Please note that the pump 2 can only be operated with liquids > 35°C for a short period of time (see Technical data). Your pump is equipped with a pressure relief valve (9) to release pressure from the pump body. Ensure the valve is not blocked. It is normal for air bubbles to flow from the top of the pump when first submerged. 8 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING Before conducting any maintenance, please ensure the unit is unplugged from the mains power. If the unit is not unplugged from the mains, there is a risk of the pump operating suddenly. WARNING Any damage caused by inappropriate repair attempts will void all warranty claims. Sand and other abrasive matters contained in the liquid discharged will speed up the process of wearing and tearing and accelerate the drop in performance. Please ensure after operation, run the pump in clean water to flush out debris left in pump system. If the pump stops functioning, check for external factors, such as power outage, operational error, float switch positioning, loose power connection.
