Safety eye: Under certain cooking conditions, the float valve on the safety eye will be up when the cooker starts to work with pressure. When the safety valve is up, the lid cannot be opened unless the pressure in the cooker is released/exhausted.

Exhaust valve operation: To exhaust (to release pressure after cooking), the exhaust valve should be aligned with the steam symbol shown on the lid. During cooking, the steam valve should be closed by pushing the exhaust valve down and turning it slightly anti-clockwise until it locks in place.

Disassembly and installation of anti-block shield and gasket

Disassembly and Installation of Anti-block Shield

  • Disassembly: Screw upward counterclockwise
  • Assembly: Screw downward clockwise
  • Instructions:
    • 1. Prior to each use, inspect whether the gasket and anti-block shield are mounted to the upper cover.
    • 2. After use, remove any foreign object from the gasket and anti-block shield. Keep clean to avoid odor.

Disassembly and Installation of Gasket

  • Disassembly: Pull up
  • Assembly: Press down
  • Instructions:
    • 3. Never pull the gasket, as pull deformation may affect sealing and pressure effect.
    • 4. A damaged gasket should not be used, and should be sent to the service center for replacement.

Cooking Preparation

  1. Open the cover correctly: Hold the cover handle firmly with a hand, rotate the cover to the opening position in the clockwise direction and lift the cover.
  2. Check components: Check whether gasket, float valve and anti-block shield are clean. If stained, clean immediately. Check if the anti-block shield is loose; if so, tighten it. Mount the gasket component to the upper cover correctly.
  3. Add food and water: Take out the inner pot and add food and water. Total amount shall not exceed the MAX level of the inner pot. Avoid cooking laminated or shattered foods that may clog the anti-block shield.
  4. Put the inner pot in the pressure cooker: Ensure the outer surface of the inner pot and the inner surface of the cooker are clean. Rotate the inner pot lightly to ensure good contact with the heating plate.
  5. Close the cover completely: Rotate the upper cover anti-clockwise to the locking position. Ensure it is rotated in place, otherwise, the cooker will not cook.
  6. Switch on: After switch-on, a warning tone will sound, indicating the unit enters standby state.

Function Selection

General Functions

  1. Finish cooking preparation according to Page 4.
  2. Switch on: After switch-on, the "Power" indicator illuminates, showing the cooker is in working state.
  3. Set pressure-holding time: The knob indicates pressure-holding time ranges for different foods. Adjust based on food, personal taste, and cooking requirements. Cooking work time = heating rise time + pressure-holding time. Cooking time varies with function level and food amount. Times listed are for reference (e.g., food amount + water = 8 scales).

Warm Tips:

  • The cooker may sometimes make a "cluck" sound during operation, which is not a malfunction.
  • For small amounts of food, the inner pot may be sucked up when the cover is opened. Shake the inner pot manually and remove the inner pot cover after it settles.

4. Keep Warm state: After cooking, the unit automatically enters "Keep Warm" state when the knob returns to "Pressure Time" and the "Keep Warm" lamp illuminates. Unplug the unit if continuous warming is not required.

Safe Cover Opening

Safety Eye: The pressure-visual valve lifts or drops based on pressure. Clean regularly to avoid blockage.

  1. Disconnect the power or take off the power plug.
  2. Exhaust method:
    • A. Quick opening method: Slide the exhaust valve to the exhaust position until the float valve falls (for non-fluid food). Place a wet towel on the cover to quicken cooling until the float valve falls.
    • B. General opening method: Allow the pressure cooker to cool naturally until the float valve falls.
  3. Open the cover: Hold the cover handle firmly, turn the cover clockwise to the spacing edge, and pull up the cover. Do not open the cover until pressure is adequately released. Never pull out the exhaust valve while it is exhausting. For fluid foods, do not use the exhaust button immediately after cooking, as food may eject. Disconnect power, cool the unit, or use a wet towel to speed cooling until the float falls, then open the cover. For large quantities, do not exhaust immediately after cooking; allow some warm-keeping time before opening.

Cooking Examples

White Rice Setting

MIN - 1 cup | MAX – 10 cups

Use the same cup measure for both rice and water:

Uncooked Rice MeasuresWater MeasuresCooked Rice Measures
1 cup1.5 cups2 cups
2 cups3 cups (up to the "2" marking inside the bowl)4 cups
4 cups5 cups (up to the "4" marking inside the bowl)8 cups
6 cups8.5 cups (up to the "6" marking inside the bowl)12 cups
8 cups11 cups (up to the "8" marking inside the bowl)16 cups
10 cups13.5 cups (up to the "10" marking inside the bowl)20 cups

NOTE: The cooking table uses the cup provided for all measurements. For an accurate result, pour the rice first and fill with water until you reach the corresponding marking inside the cooking bowl.

TIP: To avoid any matting at the base of the rice, cut a circle in non-stick baking paper the same size as the rice cooker bowl and place at the bottom.

TIP: After cooking is over, wait for at least 10 minutes before opening the pressure cooker. It will give some time to the rice to absorb any excess moisture.

STIR FRY Setting

The Saute setting is ideal for browning meat and caramelising vegetables. This seals in the moisture, tenderises and intensifies the flavour. The STIR FRY setting is also handy if the liquid amount is excessive after pressure cooking. Just remove the lid and operate the Saute setting for approximately 10–15 minutes or until the liquid reduces by the desired amount.

  1. Make sure that the power outlet is switched off and that the power cord is unplugged from the power outlet before starting.
  2. Remove the lid from the pressure express and leave off while using the "Saute" setting. Ensure the removable cooking bowl is correctly inserted into the stainless steel housing.
  3. Plug the power cord into the power outlet and switch on. The green "POWER" light will illuminate.
  4. Move the selection control dial to the "STIR FRY" setting.
  5. Allow the pressure express a couple of minutes to preheat. Add oil (if applicable) into the removable cooking bowl.

NOTE: Do not place the lid on the Pressure Express when using the Saute function.

  1. Place the food to be cooked (as per recipe being used) into the removable cooking bowl. Depending on the quantity of food, you may have to saute in batches.

NOTE: Use the heat resistant serving spoon or ladle to stir and serve the food.

  1. Once all the ingredients have cooked to the required level of doneness, turn the dial back to the "OFF" Position. The orange "HEATING" light will extinguish and the green "POWER" light will illuminate.

HINT: Trim excess fat from meat or poultry before sauteing. Also, if a recipe calls for browning meat, it may be browned using the STIR FRY setting.

NOTE: "STIR FRY" will only operate with the lid removed. When the lid is locked into position, Saute on the control dial becomes the 30 minute timer mark for pressure cooking.
