Design and Sound
The Pro-Ject Tube Box E is an innovative, miniature-sized phono preamplifier with a tube output, enriching the Pro-Ject E-line. It features a fully discrete circuit design, avoiding operational amplifiers (OpAmps). This design ensures fantastic low-noise phono amplification with clean measurements and accurate RIAA equalisation, contributing to a long product life-cycle for maintenance and repair.
The unit comes with replaceable ECC83 (12AX7A) tubes, allowing users to experiment with "tube rolling" and sound-shaping to achieve their preferred sound signature. It delivers a full, relaxed, and laid-back sound with lush mids, characteristic of higher-end tube preamplifiers.
The enclosure is constructed entirely from metal, providing effective protection against electromagnetic interference and vibrations that can degrade listening experiences. The front panel and control elements are made from beautifully machined aluminium.
