For Reference
The Outlander PHEV, first launched in 2013 as the world's first SUV type 4WD PHEV, has led the PHEV category as Mitsubishi's flagship model. With its concept of "EV for daily use, Hybrid for long trips," it offers a powerful, smooth, and quiet driving experience, making it an electrified SUV that is safe, secure, and comfortable to drive in various weather and road conditions.
In 2021, the second-generation model underwent a full model change, embodying Mitsubishi Motors' electrification technology and four-wheel-drive control technology with the concept of "Majestic." The October 2024 major update further enhanced its quality through design changes, improved EV cruising range, and increased acceleration performance, thanks to a revamped drive battery. It also features a 12.3-inch navigation system, seat ventilation, and the Yamaha Corporation co-developed audio system as standard equipment across all grades, representing further evolution.
In 2024, the Outlander PHEV ranked first in the PHEV category in domestic sales volume (according to the Japan Automobile Dealers Association), receiving high praise from many customers.
