Wiring Diagram and Connections
The controller features clearly marked terminals for power input, LED output, and push switch control.
Wiring Diagram Description:
- Power Input: Connect a 12-48VDC constant voltage power supply to the terminals labeled "INPUT V-" and "INPUT V+".
- LED Output: Connect the single-color LED strip to the terminals labeled "OUTPUT LED+" and "OUTPUT LED-".
- Push Switch Input: A terminal labeled "Push switch input" is available for connecting a momentary push switch.
- RF Control: The controller communicates wirelessly with a separate "DIM remote" unit.
- DIP Switches: Located on the unit for setting PWM Frequency (500Hz, 2KHz, 8KHz, 16KHz) and Dimming Curve (linear, log).
Wire Preparation:
- Use solid or stranded wire with a cross-sectional area of 0.5 to 2.0 mm².
- Ensure terminals are tightened securely to prevent high contact resistance and overheating.
- The output power of the power supply should be at least 1.2 times the load of the LED strip to prevent flickering.
Mechanical Structures and Installations
The V1-SP controller is compact, measuring approximately 60mm x 60mm x 40mm. It includes mounting ears on the sides, which can be detached as needed for different installation requirements. The unit features an LED indicator, an RF antenna, and a push switch input terminal.
Wire Stripping: Recommended wire stripping length is 6-7mm.
Operation and Control
Match with RF Remote Control
Two methods are available for matching or deleting RF remotes:
Method 1: Using the Match Key
- Match: Short press the "Match Key" on the controller. Then, immediately press the on/off key (single zone remote) or zone key (multi-zone remote) on the remote control. A fast flash of the LED indicator confirms successful matching.
- Delete: Press and hold the "Match Key" for 10 seconds. A fast flash of the LED indicator confirms that all matched remotes have been deleted.
Method 2: Using Power Restart
- Match: Turn off the power, then switch it back on. Repeat this power cycle. Immediately short press the on/off key (single zone remote) or zone key (multi-zone remote) on the remote control three times. The output light flashing three times indicates successful matching.
- Delete: Turn off the power, then switch it back on. Repeat this power cycle. Immediately short press the on/off key (single zone remote) or zone key (multi-zone remote) on the remote control five times. The output light flashing five times indicates that all matched remotes have been deleted.
Push Switch Dimming
The push switch interface allows for intuitive control:
- Short Press: Turns the light on or off.
- Double-click: Switches between 10% and 100% brightness.
- Long Press (1-6 seconds): Continuously increases or decreases brightness. Releasing and pressing again reverses the dimming direction.
Dimming Memory: The last set brightness value is remembered even after power loss.
Synchronization: For multiple controllers connected to the same push switch, long-press the switch for 10 seconds to synchronize all lights to 100% brightness.
Recommendation: It is advised not to connect more than 25 controllers to a single push switch, and the connecting wire length should not exceed 20 meters.
PWM Frequency and Dimming Curve Settings
PWM Frequency Setting
Four PWM frequencies can be selected via DIP switches: 500Hz, 2KHz, 8KHz, or 16KHz. Higher PWM frequencies result in lower output current and potentially higher power supply noise, but are more suitable for camera shooting to avoid flicker.
DIP Switch Configuration for PWM Frequency:
- 500Hz: DIP switches 1-2 ON
- 2KHz: DIP switches 1 ON, 2 OFF
- 8KHz: DIP switches 1 OFF, 2 ON
- 16KHz: DIP switches 1-2 OFF
Dimming Curve Setting
The controller supports both Linear and Logarithmic dimming curves:
- Linear Dimming Curve (Gamma=1.0): Provides a direct proportional relationship between brightness input and PWM duty output.
- Logarithmic Dimming Curves (e.g., Gamma=1.6): Offers a more natural, human-eye perceived dimming experience, often preferred for ambient lighting.
On/Off Fade Time Setting
The fade time for switching the light on or off can be adjusted:
- Default (0.5s): Press and hold the match key for 10 seconds to restore factory default parameters, including the 0.5s fade time.
- 3s Fade Time: Press and hold the match key for 15 seconds to set the on/off fade time to 3 seconds.
Installation Precautions
- Ensure a minimum distance of 20cm between stacked products to prevent overheating and ensure product lifespan.
- Install the product at least 20cm away from switching power supplies to avoid interference from their radiation.
- Mount the controller at a height of at least 1 meter from the floor to prevent weak reception signals from shortening remote control distance.
- Keep the product at least 20cm away from metal objects or coverings to avoid signal attenuation and maintain remote control range.
- Avoid installing the controller in corners of walls or beams, maintaining a distance of at least 20cm to prevent signal interference.
