Operation
Starting Up
Air Supply: Important information about the appliance can be found in the model specifications. Lubricate the appliance before putting it into operation (see Maintenance).
Mounting
Always disconnect the air supply hose when mounting or dismounting socket nuts or accessories onto or from the appliance.
Using the Appliance
⚠️ Safety Notice! Wear protective glasses! Wear ear protectors!
Before daily use, always drain water from the compressor tank and blow condensation out of the air hose.
Start your compressor. The maximum service air pressure is 6.3 bar.
The power (torque) of impact wrenches under primary working conditions is mainly determined by three factors:
- The service pressure used.
- The duration of the working step on the threaded joint (normal working time is 3-5 seconds).
- The setting of the switching lever in relation to the threaded joint and impact duration.
Using screws and materials of varying hardness can increase friction, resulting in higher torque without tighter thread fastening. For rusted threaded joints, use an appropriate rust-dissolving agent before using the impact wrench. If threaded joints do not loosen after 3-5 seconds of impact, use a larger impact wrench. Do not overload the impact wrench beyond its specified power limit, as this will drastically shorten its service life.
Note: The tightening torque is directly related to thread firmness, appliance revolutions, socket nut condition, and usage time. Use the most direct and simple connection between the appliance and the socket nut. Any additional connection or extension will absorb and reduce power.
Figure 2 illustrates the setting of loosening torques:
- Fig. 2 A: Full loosening torque 1600 Nm
- Fig. 2 B: Tightening torque, partial load 300 Nm
- Fig. 2 C: Tightening torque, half load 800 Nm
- Fig. 2 D: Tightening torque, full load 1000 Nm
Maintenance and Care
Lubrication
- Disconnect the impact wrench from the air supply.
- Add 4-6 drops of GÜDE pneumatic oil (Art. No. 40060, or GÜDE mist lubricator Art. No. 41354) or equivalent oil into the air inlet while the trigger is pressed.
- Reconnect the appliance to the air supply and run it for approximately 30 seconds to allow excess oil to drain.
This lubrication process helps reduce moisture, dust, and dirt that can accumulate in the compressor over time, reducing its performance. Integrated oil reservoirs offer the best protection.
⚠️ Safety Notice! Leaked oil can cause serious injuries. Cover the oil outlet with a cloth and run the appliance for a few seconds to safely drain excess oil. Keep the cloth away from moving parts!
Every three months, or if the impact wrench is used infrequently, remove the air hose and add a larger quantity of pneumatic oil into the air inlet. Reconnect the air hose and run the impact wrench for about 30 seconds to clean the compressor motor. After cleaning, follow the lubrication instructions.
Disposal
Disposal instructions are indicated by pictograms on the appliance or packaging. Descriptions of these pictograms are provided in the "Identification" chapter.
Disposal of Transport Packaging: Packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. Packaging materials are typically selected based on environmental compatibility and disposal methods, making them recyclable. Returning packaging to the material cycle saves resources and reduces waste disposal costs. Packaging parts (e.g., foil, styrofoam) can be dangerous for children and pose a suffocation risk. Keep these parts out of reach of children and dispose of them as soon as possible.
Emergency Action
Provide first aid appropriate to the injury and seek qualified medical assistance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from further harm and keep them calm. For potential accidents, a first-aid kit conforming to DIN 13164 must always be available at the workplace. Any material used from the first-aid kit must be replenished immediately. When requesting help, provide the following information:
- Accident site
- Type of accident
- Number of injured persons
- Type of injury
Troubleshooting
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Impact wrench not working or running slowly | Insufficient air pressure | Check air pressure at the air inlet. It must be 6.3 bar. |
Air pressure set too low | Increase pressure to 6.3 bar. | |
Impact wrench needs lubrication | See Maintenance. | |
Impact wrench needs cleaning | See Maintenance. | |
Air hose is not tight | Tighten all hose screwed joints. |
